Elemental Modifiers
Compatibility Modifier
All spells are modified by elemental compatibility. The caster's element is checked against the element of the spell. If the two are the same, then the spell receives a bonus. If the caster's element feeds the spell's element (as Wood feeds fire, for example), the spell is unmodified. Otherwise, the spell receives a penalty.

Attack Modifier
Attacks are modified only by the attack modifier. If the attacker and target share an element, the attack is unmodified. If the attacker's element consumes the target's element (as Wood consumes Earth), then the attack is doubled. If the target's element feeds the attacker's element (as Water feeds Wood), then the attack is increased by half. If the attacker's element feeds the target's element, then the attack is halved. If the target's element consumes the attacker's element, then the attack is nearly nullified.

Spell Modifier
After the compatibility modifier (spell element vs. caster element), spells are subject to the spell modifier. If the caster and target share an element, the spell is unmodified. If the caster's element consumes the target's element (as Metal consumes Wood), then the spell is increased by half. If the target's element feeds the caster's element (as Earth feeds Metal), then the spell is doubled. If the caster's element feeds the target's element, then the spell is nearly nullified. If the target's element consumes the caster's element, then the spell is halved.
