So many eyes, lots of opportunity for animations! Hoping.

Xer0.the.Dark: Neat walkabouts. How can you customise the hero sprites? Alternative walkabout sprites, or the palette?

Both. I wanted to have full character customization, at first...hairstyle options, eye colors, clothing styles...etc. I decided that was going a bit too far for my very first project, though. So I decided to keep customization options available...but limit it. So, instead of individual hairstyles and eye colors...completely different sprites with unique hairstyles/eyes/etc. Palette can also be chosen during character creation and changed during gameplay. There isn't really a gender selection, either. I want the player character to reflect whoever is playing (or whoever they want to play as), and I feel like the usual Male/Female gender selection limits too much. So instead, I'm going for masculine|androgynous|feminine looking sprite options. My current way of doing it is by using a menu with different options "Masculine 1, 2, 3, etc", then switching to another menu that contains the palette choices. After a sprite and palette are chosen, the player can test the sprite on screen. There is a textbox at the bottom of the screen asking if you want to choose different options or continue. There's still a long way to go...but it's coming together. :)

Finally started on getting together some hero graphics together for this. Planning on doing edits for these for the attack/casting/etc. frames, so they're not quite done yet.

Hanu, the main character, is a young boy who died mysteriously and was sent to hell instead of heaven, presumably due to an oversight on God's part. In hell, people lose their human form and take the form of demons - Hanu becomes a purple monkey-like critter.
The goal of the game is to traverse all 66 floors of hell and defeat Satan in order to get another chance at life. The more you know ^^

The 66 floors thing instantly made me think of the number of the beast (Devil's Number) 666. So now I'm wondering what is going to be the final six to complete this number series 66_? Maybe the player has to collect six key items, kill six lesser demon lords which summon the Devil? Or more than likely you already have this all planned out...?
