Thanks to the MAJOR help from Ravan (who taught me how to do slices), we were able to make this little menu:

- If not it'll just display a textbox instead.

- It's a Final Fantasy 3j style menu system that looks at your inventory and reads if you're using the right item.

"Fenrir, it's been eight months since you finished up Vikings. What are you up to next?"
"Going back to basics."
"So another epic-length RPG where you play as dog people?"
"Moreso a short adventure where you play as dog people. But this time with GUSTO."
"Wait, haven't you done that already?"
"Yes, but have you heard of Final Fantasy Randomizer?"
"Well sure, but NO FEN, YOU STOP THAT RIGHT NOW."

Amazing. I never really felt like I got a good context for what the cities in False Skies looked like. This really changes the whole perspective (literally).

Yeah, that is one of the downsides to the dragon quest-ish look I decided to go with; even if I try and vary up the layout of each city, they can start to blend together a bit.
The city this is an overlook of is a bit more important than all the other ones, though, and I think that lends it some special treatment.

I love them. They're all so asymmetrical and have really nice shading. So pleasing to look at.

Re: Show off your graphics!
So, 2020-2021 was a bad year (...or was it two years? or six months? maybe a decade?) for me overall.
Due to a personal/family situation that I haven't even mentioned to most of my actual have-met-in-real-life friends yet (much less random people on a forum!), things got really bad during the last few months of 2021. And on top of all that, January/February is usually peak seasonal depression time for me, so 2022 was off to a shaky start even though I've finally started to pull things back together after how 2021 ended.
But yesterday was one of the better days I've had in a while. And one of the first times since I finished up Bok's Expedition that I've really been in the mood for game-making.
Here's the first bit of a new area that wasn't accessible in the current demo of Fnrrf Ygm Schnish: Alleghany Hell School. The tunnels leading to this area weren't either, but they're just plain brown cave tunnels so not much new to see there. The few(?) of you who've played through to the end of the current demo might remember Mr. Higgins mentioning this place, with its sealed door that nothing (up to and including dynamite) seems to be able to open.
Also, some new enemies for the area. The Icket uses the same sprite from Teekee, though with a slightly different palette. Brain Sausages have psychic powers that become stronger the more of them there are -- at the start of the fight this will boost the power of the whole group, and every time you beat one, it weakens the leftovers. They're still kind of a joke if you use spread attacks, but if you leave a group of four or five alive for long they'll start hitting you pretty hard.

The wireframe image looks awesome!
Is this going to have a system where you move your character using the keyboard and aim at things with the mouse? You don't use the mouse in most platformers, but the up and down arrows in the bottom right corner look like something you're supposed to click on.

Obviously it looks awesome. I imagined your hero hunched forward more for his run. What do you think?

Oh, tried to give her a bit more of a Samus-esque posture, given she's got a slightly cumbersome suit on that, I feel, would keep her a bit more upright
