So I was feeling silly, so I did some more messing around in Blender:
Using Vikings tiles. Definitely not perfect, but was mostly just 15 minutes of work or so, just to see what it might look like.

@BMR, that's awesome! I figured out how to get Unity to render pixel art correctly and had a lot of success too. If you ever want to put your work into that engine, I can send you the resources that led me to this product: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Bvl8sKqJSI.

Reminds me of when I put minecraft graphics (and maps) into OHR.
(I'd still like to release an improved version of Blockworks someday)
Those VoM billboard sprite trees work surprisingly well in a 3D environment; usually billboarding just looks bad.
Nathan: a couple of those games, Heavenly Dreamers and Star Cops, seem really obscure! Any reason you picked them... you played them long ago and still remember they had rodents?

Heavenly Dreamers because I was friends with its author (Jude the Rat) in another online community for a few years before the OHRRPGCE came up.TMC wrote:Nathan: a couple of those games, Heavenly Dreamers and Star Cops, seem really obscure! Star Cops because I kept scrolling past and ignoring it on the Castle Paradox gamelist but its screenshot showed a mouse in a police uniform standing around in heaven so I was curious about the game's content and downloaded it a couple years ago.

Hey man, you made some giant leaps in graphics! Good job, seriously. Some of those screens look a bit like Pokemon, and that is no insult. Top notch work.
You even do things the way I've learned most people should do things, which is to just DO, and improve later. So... you're better than me as well.

Dig it! Is that for a particular game?ArtimusBena wrote:Working on a new hero sprite. Just the legs for now.
And yes, my philosophy is that before there can be a polished game there must first be an unpolished game. I try to fix bugs as I go to maintain something close to complete functionality, and then make improvements later. I’m currently working on a music project, but after that I’ll be back working on Pilgrimage again.

TMC requested I share this here as well. It's a short speed-drawing thing I did using photoshop for my park map.
