Battle Sprites

Post by Spazman »

Here's a few from a new game i'm making. Well, they're from the game that my game is based on, but I had to completely redraw them for OHRRPGCE.

So, in direct order, these are the: Former Captain, Dark Imp, Demon, Cyberdemon Lord, Imp, and Lost Soul from Doom RPG. The full version has a LOT more enemies. And actually, so does the demo!

Why, what could this be?
----------------------------

This fellow is Fear itself. Nothing to fear...except for him.

This is Lust. You know you want her.

This is Greed. He has a lot of arms so he can grab everything he sees.
----------------------------

Finally, this is Wrath. You won't like him when he's angry. And he's angry all the time.
----------------------------
I think these are some of my best sprites, especially Wrath. Wrath can be reused as other things, and Greed can too. Lust...is pretty much Lust. And Fear can be used as an undead monster. Anyone like them?

Thanks James!
The only thing that iffs me on the Greed Sprite is the hands of the other arms. Hands are not my specialty, along with faces.

The second one/fifth one's legs look strange to me. Like they're bending backwards. You know, unless it's supposed to be like that..

I agree with Voltire. It looks like they got a butt in front. Maybe it could be remedied by flipping the legs around, the the knees point outwards, and not inwards.

The graphics are straight from DOOM.

Correction: Most of these monsters are straight from Doom, with some minor redesigns. Some of them are quite unique to the game itself, to make more of a bestiary for the game. And the demon's legs are supposed to be bent backwards. I'm not sure why this design was chosen, but it was. Also, i had to redraw some of these from Doom to make them fit into the game, since the OHRRPGCE's bit-setting is lower than that of Doom. I'm actually very surprised by the outcome of each.

The red bits on the Dune Zombie, look like a palette flaw, I think they'd be better off darker, like black or a dark grey.

I just saw that. Thanks. I'll get to work on that graphic.

If you insist on making a doom rpg you should really use the doom palette, that way it'll be 100% accurate.
