GAME.exe Linux issues

Post by Bluefeather42 »

I apologize if this is the wrong board.
I'm running the latest stable version of OHR, and I've tried this on Debian 12 and Pop_Os!, and GAME.exe/ohrrpgce-game is having some problems on both distros. Pretty much every game starts with the "unsupported RPG File" warning and "unsupported script" warning. Some games (like Walthros Renewal) run fine after that, but on other games I get a bunch of script errors and if the game runs at all there's several weird glitches - like the correct graphics not showing up in False Skies.
Also, I've used both the tarball and Deb packages. Same thing.
Is this a problem with Linux, or do I need to be running a different version of GAME?

What is the version number of ohrrpgce-game that you are running?

Maybe you are using the stable version, but trying to play games edited with more recent nightly builds?

20210913. I'm assuming that's the case without a better explanation.

Yep, we have gone way too long without a stable release, and I think most people are using nightly builds now, sorry about that.

Just try a newer nightly version (they are also very stable)

That was indeed it. Thanks!
