The Theme
This year we are going with the theme of Public Domain Characters. This could mean anything from 1) so old it was an AARP member when you were born to 2) anything since then that just happens to be free for public use.

There is no restriction on what engine you use.


The Timeline
The official starting flag has been waved today, the 22nd of January, in this year of some people's Lord, 2024.
Submissions are due March 31st, 9:00pm PST April 7th, 9:00pm PST. (An extension of one week has been given).

April 8th I will stream every game in Discord. Voting closes April 21st! (these dates have changed also)

The Voting
Voting will be very simple:

• Anybody can vote

• You can vote for your own game, but if you're in a team I'll accept only one vote from the team on their own game.

• Each game gets a 1-5 score. However you personally reach your scores of 1 to 5 is entirely up to you.

• I will accept your votes via PM on the forums or DM in discord.

• If you don't have a score for a particular game, it gets an automatic 3

• Voting closes April 21st!

A note on voting:
I prefer you keep your votes confidential but if you want to put your reviews here please be respectful and constructive.


The Prizes
(These may be added to before the contest is over! Let me know if you want to volunteer something)

• All contestants will get a screenshot of their game autographed by me... Artimus Bena.

• 3rd Place Prize - A $5 steam gift card.

• 2nd Place Prize - A $10 steam gift card and a re-gifted Spoonbox with stuff I didn't throw away.

• 1st Place Prize - As is tradition, you will take my spot on the Slime Salad front page. You will also get a personalized Un-Secret Santa gift from me, and a $20 steam gift card

If some of these prizes aren't possible for you, such as getting something sent to your address, we'll work something out.

NEW AMENDMENT: If SwordPlay has the BALLS to enter something, I'll buy him whatever game on steam he wants. But it can't be whatever. I have to judge it to be a legitimate try at a game.

I'd say this trailer is more informative than the Summer Slam one, but honestly they're both ridiculous.

Yes, I will be entering. Full disclosure, I'm entering a sizable update to Cthulhu's Paradox. I'll plan to make a video of the new content in the event people don't want to replay a game they played before for a fistful of new jokes and scenes, but there will be expansions to all areas of the game so it might be worth replaying to see them. It will also have what I like to call the true ending. If anybody wants to be in the game that isn't already just message me, the cult can always expand.

I hope everybody learned a lot in the last year and is prepared to bring it.

If you're out there in the world still Charbile, do battle with us.
Also, Spoon and IDK, let's jam guys.

The glory of this contest cannot be understated. It's about GODDAMNED time. My excitement cannot be contained, and the flame of my passion cannot be quenched but by the cooling waters of a steam gift card and some random crap.
