Making this one official. Walthros: The Last Summer is set 13 years before the events of Walthros: Renewal. Salom's family prepares to move away from Beta City while his closest friends plan one last camping trip.

This is a DLC story that goes into a more innocent, though no less stressful, time in the lives of Bob, Salom, Lydia, and Lucia. A time in life when friendships are forever forged or broken and new revelations tell us who we really are.

I don't have a release date planned right now. The Last Summer will be several hours long and cost $1.99. I will continue to share updates regularly. I'm happy to be back!

I'm putting Kane 2 on hold for a little while I work on this game. I'm happy with my work on Kane 2 but not passionate about it quite yet. Being back in the world of Walthros just feels good. These are my people. Always have been.

Salom is the main playable character in Walthros: The Last Summer. Improvising when things turn tough, he fights monsters using his bowling skills.

How are you planning to do DLC? I assume since we know a little more now and that it's an additional short game and not a part of the game itself you'll do the bundle route? I suppose you can do the trick where you check file directory for the DLC RPG file to load it? I've liked the idea of DLC but I think this is the only method the OHR can do it really. Curious if it's something different.

It will run a check to see if the DLC files exist and if so, turn on a tag that allows the menu option to appear for players to start the DLC from the main menu. I run similar checks in Renewal already to see if players own Kaiju, C. Kane, or Walrus System and unlock rewards if they do.

Yeah people could cheat the system if they know which file names are being checked, but the engine isn't big on copy protection either way (I'm glad) so it doesn't really matter.

A new enemy type for Walthros: The Lost Summer. Biting Snails are more dangerous than their domestic relatives, but not TOO dangerous.

...I am now cursing myself for buying Kaiju on steam two years ago and Walthros on itch.

Copy Kaiju's .RPG file into the same directory you have Walthros installed and it will trigger the bonus items when you visit the world map
