I'm making a game heavily inspired (as the title suggests) by Toby Fox's DELTARUNE. I'm not sure if it counts as a fangame, considering the story and characters are completely original, but it does use things like the Dark Worlds and SOULs. So far I've made some progress on the first room of the game, with some things to interact with and dialogue alongside it. Many of the objects' sprites are either unfinished or placeholders; they will look presentable in future.
I also intend to add Pixel Walker to the game to make the movement system more akin to DELTARUNE, however it messes up the player animations and I'm not skilled enough at HamsterSpeak (yet) to fix it.
Below is some footage of the first rooms of the game:

Very promising start! I feel confident if you stick with it you'll figure it out. There's a number of people in the Discord who have implemented pixel based movement you can consult with and I'm sure they'll ease you in the right direction. Keep up the great work!

That's some really cool sprite work. Good luck to you!

Cool!
But it looks like you're already using the pixel walker scripts. Which animations do you mean, the walking animations? The walk animation speed looks quite slow compared to the movement speed. It looks like you intentionally reduced default:animspeed?RitzyJuice885 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 12:06 pmI also intend to add Pixel Walker to the game to make the movement system more akin to DELTARUNE, however it messes up the player animations and I'm not skilled enough at HamsterSpeak (yet) to fix it.

Oh, but you used some script to get disagonal walking, and it looks like 3-free walk animations (but hard to see). Which script is that, the three-frame walking one from the wiki?

I'll update Pixel Walker "eventually" to be more user-friendly and less bug-ridden. Apologies for the delay on that.
