An OHR Podcast you say? But WHY?!!
Hello everyone, this is the offfical forum thread for the future OHR Podcast that has begun production.
We are currently in the planning phase, but plan to release a monthly episode
Each episode of the podcast will feature :
- interview an ohr dev
review/recommend an old game
overview of newly released games
look at what was recently released
*not in that order
We're still in the planning phase and nothing is definite yet, but we hope to get something out by the end of the month and follow that each month going forward.
I hope you look for to and enjoy it.

I can't commit to anything, but I've edited podcasts before if no one else is on board for that task.

Well, that's certainly something. Are you sure you want to do all of those things each episode though? You could have different types of episode, and if you break it up into smaller pieces that avoids the problem of delaying episodes because something's not ready or you just don't have "enough" content, which is a big problem for any OHR publication.

Don't think we'll forget your former life as a podcaster so easily!

Seconding that smaller more frequent episodes are better than huge infrequent ones
And, Ha! I had forgotten about my own brief foray into podcasting
we never did get to season 2 of Club de Cuervos

Aaaand I finally did get around to listening, and I enjoyed it. Spoons, you are a good host, and EonHet it was nice hearing about your ideas and your game design philosophy
That mention of a desert community in california, brief though it was, flooded my imagination. I knew a few places in the desert that had a nice high level of fun weirdness
Also the talk of a "Homework" game reminded me how few games I have played lately. I've missed a bunch of good ones!
I would enjoy participating in an interview for some future episode.

Great interview. Was looking forward to it once I found out it was PJ. As Spoon said, let me know if you want a free copy of the game for the homework session.

Congratulations to the OHR podcast, those are enjoyable talks. You could stick them on the Youtube channel to show more life signs from the OHRRPGCE.

I've thought about that. But , I think people would be a lot less ok with some sort of video of them then they already are with their voice.
So, I'd need to do some sort of visual element I think, in order to put it on youtube.
I've been debating on either a static screen, or rough animations. I think I'll make a decision sometime around episode 5 or 6

Open Vikings
Import a walkabout from one of the guest's games, import a timtim sprite.
Add them both as "Walk in Place" NPCs, and put them on opposite sides of a table in the inn.
Record a short gif, loop it over the whole podcast

Homework game is Spellshard.
As for the visualizations for youtube, Giz made a thing for episode 1 that... well I'm going to use it provided I get something for episode 2 and 3.
The idea is to have a guest artist do the visualization / picture for each episode, with Giz being the guest artist for episode 1.
