Look, Sword, I mean you no disrespect, and in most other situations I'd be on your side, but come of, it was just going to be a stupid little side-scrolling beat 'em up. It wasn't going to be a game with a complex story. Like some fighting game where you need a Ph.D in theoretical physics to understand. I mean, Bad Dudes and Golden Axe didn't have a more complex story than bad guy kidnapped this person beat them up. Among other games, I'm not an expert in the genre. It doesn't really need a deep consideration of the narrative. Game feel probably should be considered, but the amount of time that passed between the game being started up and the time Wobbler left was like two hours, hardly enough time to think too deeply on anything. Let's all sit back from this for a day, and come back to it when we have cooler heads.
I'm not doing this to be a slime, we had a good thing going when we were working on things together. Why did we stop that?
Also, this topic is apparently drawing more views than any real game ever did, judging by how many sleepers have awoken from dreamland.

The only person good enough to make a OHR House so good it could no longer be called OHR House... It was Home. I thank ye from the bottom of my heart for showing me it could be done, and moving my soul forever.
Thanks Char, your friendship has meant so much more to me than I'll ever admit. Well, you and some other people haha.

They laugh because they consider it so beneath me, it's ludicrous.Spoonweaver wrote:I'm very sorry to hear people laugh at you and your offers.
But you do understand you completely derailed this thread right?

Finally caught up a little, Brawlers can be a wide variety of moodstates. Alien vs. Predator is pretty gloomy. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is pretty cheery, and I mean, to a lesser extent stuff like Streets of Rage where the cops blow up entire city streets because one of their own is in danger well... it seemed funny at the time. The basic stuff uhh.. your Final Fights, your Bad Dudes, tended to be a little boring, so you needed Suplex Crazy Mayors (Which also seemed funny at the time, RIP Jesse V) to differentiate. I think, but cannot prove, that the most memorable ones tended to deviate.
I think it'd be a lot of fun to have a game with a buncha crazy flamboyant drag queens fighting to get back to their home turf, like The Warriors with more hairspray. (Hairspray would be a pretty good weapon in such a game!). You could have decrepit torn down building contrasting with cuckoo crazy characters. Hell, throw in some Escape from New York in there. Drag Queens Save The President!
Sword, I love you. You remind me of myself. You're a beautiful human being. But you're in a manic state right now, you've gotta recognize that and get control. I know the *REAL* Swordplay is in there, you gotta fight to bring him out. I always worry that one day you're gonna stretch too far and the rebound is going to be fatal.
I can't find the thread where the post is, in all the chaos, but someone suggested an OHR House style game: That is absolute folly. Slander, even. The original OHR House stuff has *NOT* stood the test of time. It is, what the kids would call, "cringe". A community is *friends* making fun of each other. I don't feel like the OHR House series of kinos did a good job of knowing anyone enough to really make fun of them. It was just putting names on characters, for the sake of... something? It was the illusion of community. The illusion of authority. It's a lot like this whole project, it's an artificial attempt to make something sincere. Like meeting a kid in kindergarten and saying "Hey... wanna be.. *BEST* Friends?!" :O :O :O instead of you know, making a bunch of friends and over time, determining who really matches you the best.
I wish you all the best, but ya'll dumb.
