I love the idea of each of the developers having different things in their workspaces, which reflect their personalities and interests. I suppose that kind of what might be called "environmental characterization" has been a recurring theme throughout Walthros: Renewal, but it really shows that you've put a lot of care into developing the setting and the characters, and it's the kind of device I think more game designers should use. Being able to interact with the environment opens up all kinds of possibilities for characterization.
"It was right through those trees; I'm not insane
That's where the fin tried to drag me in
Don't look at me, look at where I'm pointing
Close your eyes, see what I see, Canajoharie..."

Wrestling? Ouch, that's cheating!

Well it's not really so easy to identify that NPC as your cameo unless there's more to it.

My cameo character gets involved in the plot but not as a major character. Gets a bio, though.

Thanks for this!

Giving the player a little more freedom in chapter 2. Originally players would experience Salom's story, then Sam's, then Bob's, but now the three can be played in whichever order you like.

I'm going to say publicly that I'm committing to finishing this game by the end of the summer. It's not going to be easy but I've got to do this.

A major area is now complete! Everything's balanced and tested. Just a little more left before we get back to Bob.

Some game dev stats for current and previous game:

Kaiju Big Battel (complete) vs. Walthros Renewal (2/3 done):

Text boxes:
KBB - 5055
WR - 4375

NPC Sprites:
KBB - 695
WR - 666

Tile Sets:
KBB - 94
WR - 99

Items:
KBB - 256
WR - 244

Songs:
KBB - 54
WR - 42

Right now Walthros is around 11 hours long if you know where to go. Probably going to be close to 20 total for regular players when the game's finished. Kaiju was about 12-16 total.

I love writing flavor text. Earlier in the game, Bob can explore Hank's room and give his opinions on all the stuff there. Later, you can visit it again as Hank to see his perspective.

How much more do you have to do to get the game out by the end of summer? Would hate to see you rush to finish and compromise any of the quality you've been putting in. Game is looking great and continues to look like your dream project.
