Looking for Play Testers

Post by The Wobbler »

Hello slime people! I'll be finishing up Kaiju Big Battel: Fighto Fantasy in the next few weeks and it's time to start reaching out to a wider range of people to test it. Right now, the game is fully complete up until the start of the final dungeon. It's 12-14 hours to get to this point, so I wanted to distribute the current build to people before finishing it up, to give everyone time to get to the end.

Looking for someone who:
-Can play through a 12-14 hour game on PC.
-Likes old RPGs.
-Likes corny puns.
-Doesn't care about whether or not a game's "epic."

If you're interested, you'll get:
-A free copy of the game on Steam when it's done.
-Your name in the game's credits.
-Hyper thanks.

I'm not looking for anyone to walk into every wall and test that kind of thing, bug testers have already done a great job. I'm looking more for someone who hasn't played the game (or only played the demo) to let me know how the flow and balance feels. Just really general thoughts.

You'll need to play through the whole thing in the next two weeks. If that time frame doesn't work, please refrain from volunteering! Leave the spot open for someone with the time.

Yay, the Kaijus! :v: I've been waiting for it to come out. I'm a little bit bussy at this moment, but I probably can put around 2 hours a day to play it. So I'd like to playtest it, I'm definitaly fit to the guy that you're looking for. :D

12-14 hours in two weeks sounds doable, I'll go for it.

Links seem to act funny in private messages, you need to select and copy and paste the whole thing all the way to the .zip part.

I just started the game and already noticed a problem. When it's fullscreen at 16:9 monitor, there are two large black lines, at the top and down the screen. I seen this problem before and I helped Ichiro fix this. You can't even take a screenshot of it, because when you do so, it captures only the game itself, without borders. TMC told that it was a bug that didn't export the needed .dll when you pack your game. So I'll pin the photos that I made when tested Ichiro's game.

The solution:
Just put the gfx_directx.dll from where lies you build of custom.exe and paste it in the foldier with your kaiju.exe. :)
(I hope that I have clearly stated my idea)

Good to know, I've never seen that before but I'll pack that file in with the next version.

Yeah, the thing is that this never happens when you test your game via Custom, it apears only when you distribute the game. So yeah, pack the file with it is a good idea.

Alright, I'm already 8 hours into the game, just reached the Boston, and I honestly really enjoying the game! :D Playing on medium difficulty. I got only a few pickings on a little mapping and layering issues.
