Are reviews not linked to games anymore?

Talk about things that are not making games here. But you should also make games!

Are reviews not linked to games anymore?

Post by marionline »

1) On a game's page, there's a link saying "No reviews. Be the first to review GAME", but if you klick that link, it leads to the game's page.
I'd expect the link to link to a page where to write reviews.

2) This game, for example has reviews that can be seen on the game's page: https://www.slimesalad.com/forum/viewgame.php?p=75075
But this one https://www.slimesalad.com/forum/viewgame.php?p=126121 does not, although there is a review by Giz here: https://www.slimesalad.com/forum/viewto ... 414#128414

Are reviews not linked to games (automatically) anymore?
Is that a bug or a feature?

I believe the reviews aren't immediately linked to the games because they're pending moderator/admin action to link them, on account of reviews affecting the games' "star rating".

Yeah, a moderator has to go through and personally attach reviews to games. It takes a while because I think the guy likes to do it in bunches? Should get done eventually though.

Thanks for the explanation. :)

And another question: So, how to reviews affect rating?
Should one give a score when writing a review?
(If I remember correctly one can also rate a game without writing a review.)

Everyone should rate games! There are too many games which have been rated by just one or two people. (I do find it really hard to give ratings in a consistent way though, since there's no way to see how I rated other games.)
But I think Fenrir is wrong about that; reviews and ratings are independent.
