Strange how 2015 had the most total games to review but the least reviews of all the years. [s]Beyond Charbile stopping in the middle of them[/s], have to wonder what the cause of that was.
Anyway, this was fun. Might have to do this next year.
e: and to be fair I did do a handful of reviews last year, mostly in the context of HotOHR

I liked Feenicks' reviews, they got straight to the point and cut all the megaslime. I liked Charbile's too, because he always does something clever with the formatting. I had meant to vote for Feenicks, but I screwed up and thought it was one of those "Click all that apply" polls. Whoops
Don't know what changes we could make. The compilation list seems to be doing its job of keeping us from dog-piling every demo that comes out. Sometimes people still seem afraid of being reviewed/writing reviews and I don't know how to make that less intimidating.

Since you mention that, I think your reviews are a good basis for that progression. In your reviews of my things at least, I never felt attacked or offended, because you made humor out of things. Basically, it needs to be emphasized that the reviews are not too serious. We're just tryin' to help each other out and let them know that someone paid attention to their creation.Gizmog wrote:Don't know what changes we could make. For anyone afraid of making reviews, just think about how nice it is to get attention on this thing you made and then posted on the internet for people to play.

Eh, it's pretty much a whenever I feel like it side project. So don't expect it any time soon or possibly ever.Pheonix wrote:So when are these reviews getting packed up, or whatever it was you were going to do with them?
(For those curious, the tentative plan is to compile each year's reviews into some type of book or magazine format that can be more easily downloaded for preservation and for reading convenience to see an entire year worth of OHR games laid out at your fingertips instead of spread around dozens of links in a forum (also important for saving older contest reviews where people didn't embed their comics on slime salad). I don't know what form it will take yet, it might just end up as one big html file with images.)
