Mr. Triangle's Adventure
I realized I've been working on this game since September 2011 and I have yet to really share a lot beyond screenshots in the hype thread. This is arguably my biggest game yet. For those that don't know, I haven't really finished an RPG since Batman & Robin, and I kind of barely let that one count. Halloween Quest 3 was in progress for several years and then I just ran out of steam on it.
Triangle's Adventure is sort of picking up the pieces from a failed HQ3, and then a bunch of new concepts I thought up along the way, in what I hope to be the definitive Mr. Triangle game. It has the largest and most well thought out world I've ever made with a story that is a mixture of traditional fantasy with cartoon concepts. Mr. Triangle travels a new world with vegetables, dinosaurs, animals and humans to try and stop this really brutal alien.
I'd like to think I'll keep up stuff on this thread, but I tend to keep the facebook page updated a bit more frequently (facebook.com/redtrianglegames).

Having clay figures made and then I've been hand painting them. Hoping to make some really unique promotional artwork for the app store and the finished product. These figures will be used for a future strategy guide and the cover of soda_piggy's soundtrack.

Soda_piggy has been working hard on a really great, and possibly the greatest minigame in the game. You can actually write your own song if you've found all of Mr. Triangle's band instruments hidden all over the world. Soda_piggy has arranged a ton of options for this, and when you're done writing a song you can actually perform it to the crowd at Rock n' Roll City.

Ahh, very nice. I was wondering what Soda_piggy was up to. I was thinking of making my soundboard program into a arpeggiator program awhile back but decided it wasn't really worth my time. This mini game looks like what I had in mind, although my concept was to make a moving character as a "playhead" which would step on NPCs which would then trigger the sounds to play. This looks much more sophisticated. I might still do my idea. Maybe I could change it into a random sound generator, or have the player control blocks which alter the paths of the "playheads" movement.RedMaverickZero wrote:Soda_piggy has been working hard on a really great, and possibly the greatest minigame in the game. thanks! Soda_piggy is working quite hard on the minigame, and based on a space availability, we might add more riffs and beats for the game later on. We're really trying to cram as much as we can into this game to try and make a very giant and complete game. We might try to make a video about Rock n' Roll City sometime in the next few weeks explaining what you can do.
Every Nerd House has a reimagined version of Mr. Triangle. As each of his band instruments you need to do the music minigame are scattered at these nerd houses. I tried to use the most interesting alternate looks for Triangle in this game. The Triangle-Man that Fenrir did, one my friend did back in high school, then the Vikings one, which works more like an Iron Man armor. Soda_piggy designed the last one, which will be the biggest and most epic one.

Not doing a ton of non Red Triangle Games cameos in this game, but there are a small amount. And I had to include the first inspirational big OHR boss battle that many of us waited patiently for the outcome of the battle. The Jormungandling from Wandering Hamster.

A unique optional set of quests in this game is a Bounty Hunting lodge. You can take down requests and seek out monsters for rare rewards. After a certain part of the game, the cats that trick Bob the Hamster will post a bounty for an artifact from the snake.

thanks for the feedback! Yeah, the snake is, like I said, a bounty hunting quest.
Sodapiggy is finishing up the music game and we're actually going to put together a video detailing all stages of how to do it. Regarding the figurines, the goal is to make some cover art for the original soundtrack and the button icon that uses all four of the main guys in a Weezer-like pose, with all four guys on the front cover.
But the way to do the music game, is you have to recover four musical instruments taken by four nasty nerds who make Triangle dopplegangers. Only when you have all four can you write and play a song at the town. You will have the option to write a new song, or play the "single" which will be the default song. A fair reward for taking down four super tough nerds.

Based on the space availability of the game, we're going to cram more samples in later when the game's at 100%. Just really max out the file size. But the player has to work hard to get to this part of the game, as there are the four angry nerds who you have to defeat before being able to perform and write your song. You will be able to play this in the Heart of the OHR release, which I'm planning for November 30th.
And Pepsi... nothing mediocre about this anymore, it's just Mr. Triangle's Adventure.
