Orbs CCG is a browser based, asynchronous TCG-type game that someone I know has been working on for some time. It passed through its kickstarter last month and has just been released into beta. It's pretty fun, and I think a lot of people here would be interested in the strategy involved, as well as watching a game get developed over time. The forums are also pretty active, with lots of people talking about game design and which way the game should go in the future.

I'm Mystic (of course) if you want to play a few matches.

Sounds pretty cool. I signed up and am waiting to be beaten in my first game.

I wish there were more single-player options than the four tutorial games. It's a little overwhelming.

You can start games against bots. The bots are ok, but they play pretty decently if you're just starting. The unique mechanics in the game can be a little hard to switch over to if you're used to other games, I think.

But back in the "pre-beta" enemies would target their own guys with negative effects if they had no other targets, for instance. It's better than that now!

I was a little turn off at first, because it looked like you needed to spend real money to compete. But now I see you can build yourself without so I figure I'll give it a chance. I'm pretty good at magic, and this seems to play in a very similar way. (only you can play any card as a land of it's color type.)

Black card type has been added to the game! Along with a new booster pack that focuses on that type of card specifically, as well as a starter pack! Today's a good day to get some cards, eh?
