It's pretty much just substitution, I'm guessing. Tedious, but not all that difficult. Kinda like those crypto-quote things that showed up in papers. Now, if you had done some really cunning cryptography stuff that didn't just substitute letters, that would be most impressive, hehe.

It wasn't supposed to be impressive, really. More of, just a way for me to write things on tiny 20x20 sprites. Try deciphering stuff all over the place, there's even a few messages in that game you and I worked on for the collab contest.BMR wrote:It's pretty much just substitution, I'm guessing. Oh, wasn't putting you down or anything, just commenting. It is pretty cool as an Easter egg in games, just not so much as actual cryptography =p But yeah, neat to have scattered about in games.
I didn't notice it in our game, I'll have to go back and look at it then.

I know for sure Ultima did it (kinda) with its runic alphabet. Heh, back in the day I could read it no problem without having to change the letters =p
I think Space Quest might have done it, it sounds like the sort of thing those games would do. I can't be sure though, it's been a while since I've played any of them.

It would have been tedious, except that the first word was "XYY," and there are very few words that follow that pattern, and the phrase was easily guessable from the one word.BMR wrote:It's pretty much just substitution, I'm guessing. I almost forgot to show this off. I forget when I did it, but I did it. It's smecksy.
edit: I'm speaking of the box borders.

Base walkabout for the twin robot classes!
In case anyone was ever concerned about why they were almost essentially pallet swaps to begin with, the reason being is that they were manufactured by the same people in the world of AR-PUH-GUH!. That's also why the Neutralite is different.
To make the War Machine and BioMech a little more different other than pallet swap and 3 legs vs 4, I will be making the "paint job" of the two different.
