Hello everyone!
Just so you know, Puzzle kinda dropped out when things went chaotic (holidays, computer viruses, zombie invasion, ect.)
Anyway, recently I rediscovered some of my older work, and decided to fix it back up. Now I'm back working in the OHR.
So at present, I'm half of Puzzle, and now working on my own project: Aliens.
This is a story, with plenty of puns, about humans discovering some alien races, in which the game can end in three different ways. (Yes, I do have MOSTLY everything worked out.
However, plotscriping is a problem

Anyway, by my next post, I should have some graphics. Although, is there a way to upload them without first putting them online?[/img]

Well, that's a little hard, considering the internet NEEDS something before the internet can show something.
I use imgur.com for my image uploads. If you're boss enough, you could just host your stuff on your own site (like a couple images I have, not much as free sites have only limited space).

This is the place insofar. I have the main storyline, but I'm a little short on a few minor details. For instance: at the beginning of the game, the main character has to meet a Commander for something, but I don't know what yet. Any suggestions?

how about to go aid some members on a planet that is getting attacked by aliens. With this concept you can also decide to add another member when you arrive to help. ( or the situation changes when you arrive)

I suggest he need to meet the officer for a romanic date, but then the officer gets handsy and the main character fights the officer off, and flees. Then the officer accuses the main character of treason and begins trying to hunt him down.

Also, you upload games by submitting their .zip file to the game thread file upload interface.

I think I'll go with the whole battling aliens bit. Might be a good introduction to the game setup. I already have an idea as to what follows, but it does explain how the hero(s) eventually get their hands on alien technology...

Ok, does anyone know if it is possible to create a script to read if a certain tag is on, and if so, add a option to a menu?

Sorry if that's confusing, but that's the best way I can describe it.

This is actually easier to do without scripting.

First go into the menu editor

Then pick "Edit Items..."

Now choose the menu item that should only appear if a tag is on

Now look for the first line that says "Enable if tag 0=ON (Always)" and change the tag number

Then go into "Bitsets..."

and turn on "Hide if disabled"

And that would make a certain textbox show?

Yes, menu items can trigger text boxes with no scripting.

And sorry, the past few weeks have been busy, so I haven't got as much as I'd like done with the game. Still, I hope to pull it up again soon, and continue the insanity...er, designing.

Ok, I've gotten a few things done, including a title screen, the mission menu, and the lower left wing of the space station. And a few aliens...

Anyway, these are the pictures insofar:


This is a control room I created. Has no other use at present except glowing.


This is a section of the lower east wing. I couldn't get a full view of it without distorting the picture.


This is to show (so far) the mission menu, available from the main menu (And thanks for the help!)


And finally: the title screen, already converted to the OHR palette. Something I didn't realize was necessary last time I tried to make a title screen. I couldn't draw back then either...
