In unrelated news, I just played through Maze of the Red Mage as all of the different classes. Thief can actually sneak past the Red Mage, which is kind of fantastic (but perhaps unintentional? I don't remember). But since you can't retreat from the Red Mage, it's kind of an all-or-nothing strategy. You really should be able to retreat, though -- if I had any plans to update the game, I'd change that. Might make the Thief a bit overpowered, but then he might already be a bit overpowered.

Actually, I think I'd also change Oracle to be a little more specific, showing the exact kind of tiles but not their locations. It is kind of a useless ability right now.
