Heart of the OHR Contest 2012
Moderators: Bob the Hamster, marionline, SDHawk
I know I'm too late to request bugfixes and all that - no big deal for me. I'm going to submit an entry by the deadline since it sounds like fun and I love having a reason to do something other than my weak personal motivation.
Here's hoping it'll hold a candle to anything! Also, the joy of new toys in the OHR will probably pull me into making a lot of fun things I can open source on the wiki later.
Good luck fellow contestants!

I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone's entries.
....that's basically what I have to say.
Okay, except for balancing, everything's balanced as it needs to be for now. Though I suppose I could bug test, that's what I want testers for. I've tested this thing enough! But oh well. I do need my friend to music me with one last track...

After a couple of months of really solid work followed by a couple more of complete burnout, here's Super Penguin Chef. The game is incomplete, and I'm hoping that the feedback generated by posting the game will give me the last burst of energy I need to finish the game.
Go forth and cook!

Just wanted to remind everyone that your games need to be online in some form (either here on Slime Salad, Castle Paradox, or someplace you can easily link us to) by the end of this Friday (or Saturday morning at 6am EST) to be eligible for the Heart of the OHR.
We won't start the judging phase until December 8th, so you'll have a week to fix your games according to the bugs that players report to you. Whatever version you have online as of December 7th (Dec. 8, 6am EST) will be the version that people will be expected to vote on.
Don't forget to announce your releases in this thread, or in the one on Castle Paradox as you upload them. If you've already uploaded a game fitting for this contest, please announce it again (with links) so that we have a reminder of what's entering so we can start giving you feedback now in preparation for the December 7th bugfix deadline. Thanks.
And good luck on the home stretch.

Though I haven't posted here in a pretty long time, I am still working on a game for this! The plan for possibly coming out with two previously-unreleased games isn't going to happen, but I will be releasing one of them as a HotOHR 2012 entry.
The game's very close to where I want it to be on demo-releasing day already, but there's just a few things keeping from zipping it up and posting a demo. Basically, just a few textboxes and a script in one area (shouldn't take too long; just the leading-up to an optional boss), and then... most of a city that will almost certainly not get done in time. There's already over an hour of gameplay time in this thing (maybe close to two depending on what you do), so it's definitely enough to qualify for the contest rules and to count as a good-sized first demo. And if I worked my butt off on the game in the upcoming week, I'd probably be able to get most (if not all) of it done in time.
Unfortunately... I'm already going to be pretty busy this week with other stuff, so I probably won't be able to get as much of it done as I had originally hoped. Anyone mind having the entrance to a mostly-unfinished city as an "end of demo" point, rather than ending with a cliffhanger-type thing like I had originally planned?
Oh, here's a random mess of sprites and stuff from the game:

(It should be pretty obvious at this point, but this isn't Fnrrf Ygm Schnish: Alleghany Hell School. That's the one I was planning on releasing as a second game if I got enough done... and then I didn't. Still probably a half-hour of game time in that one, but it's just not done enough for me to feel okay about releasing a demo of it yet.)
