Tim-Tim

The sand inside the pouch is extremely fine. It looks like fine white sand, but beyond that, you can tell nothing about it. There are also no clues on the pouch or within the sand to tell you what anything else about it.

I guess he'll be okay if we leave him here. I don't envy the hangover he's gonna have though.

You continue down the path, leaving the kobold behind. You continue with the grappling hook and rope trick, but set off no new traps. The kobolds seem to have fled.

You're a few hours at this, when the air seems to change. It's less musty and cave-y, and more crisp and clean. You also notice it's starting to get brighter. At a final turn, you're greeted by the cave entrance, with the sun shining off in the horizon. Guessing by it's position, you suppose it's late in the afternoon, perhaps with another two or three hours before nightfall.

The cave opens out into a valley. It's bounded on all sides by mountains, while not exactly impassable, they would be extremely difficult to traverse. The ground is covered in grass, and there are a few sparse trees around. You estimate that the entire valley is around half a mile wide and perhaps a mile long from where you are.

Around ten or fifteen yards from the cave exit, is the temple you've been trying to get to. It looks to have around three floors, though it could be four. The massive double door looks to be closed, but not barred from this side. The windows, however, all seem to be boarded up tight.

Beardthar regards the temple.

You prepare your gear to camp for the night. A quick meal, and some fire warm you up after the damp and cold of the cave. Soon, you settle in for the night.

Is anyone keeping watch?

Obviously someone ought to. I guess I'll take the first watch since I haven't been throwing the grapple all night.

As a half-elf, Holy Saint Akbar al-Akbar only half-sleeps. He will take second shift.

Beardthar eats, feeds Rock-head, and then collapses into a deep sleep. Spittle wasn't kidding about grapple throwing being tiring! Beardthar's throwing arm hurts even more than any of his battle-wounds.

Beardthar completely forgets about his plan to circle the temple before bedtime.

Beardthar dreams about sponge-cake, limestone, and short sexy dwarf women with finely styled beards.

Tim-Tim studies his spell list. Then he takes a bit of time to familiarize himself with the new scrolls he found. Unsure of the amount of use he'd get out of such a spell he decides to simply store them away in one of his many inner robe pockets. Then he goes to sleep, using the sand bag he found as a pillow.

"No rush for me!" Peanut chimes, already beginning to take off his backpack for the night. With the mention of keeping watch, he remembers how his village would have guards keeping watch to ensure bandits and unsavory creatures do not wreck everything.

Peanut doesn't bother to eat, more tired than hungry. He arranges the items in his back pack so that laying on it would be more comfortable.

You settle in for the night.

Spittle's Watch

Listen (1d20 + Ranks + WIS)
Spittle: 14 + 0 + 0 = 14 Success
You hear sounds coming from the temple. It's too faint to tell what the sounds are, could be that there's something living there. Possibly more kobolds.

Holy Saint Akbar's Watch

Listen (1d20 + Ranks + WIS)
  • Akbar: 11 + 0 + 1 + 1 = 13 Success
The night is mostly quiet. There's the occasional sound from the direction of the temple, but nothing else.

Spot (1d20 + Ranks + WIS)
Akbar: 18 + 0 + 1 + 1 = 20 Success
You think you noticed some movement on the top floor in the temple. Too far away and too dark to be sure though.

Everyone except for Akbar and Spittle, +3 HP

Well rested and Energetic, Tim-Tim readies himself for the day in a flash. Stopping for only a moment to double check that his loving toad is comfortable. Then he heads off to examine this temple or whatever it, closer than the group did last night. He assumes the rest of the group will follow him soon, and isn't afraid of a few wimpy guards.

Beardthar yawns and stretches. He meditates for just a few minutes, and then gets ready to go.

Just some spooky noises comin' from inside that place. Pretty normal for a spooky ol' temple, in my opinion.
