We have rules
Let me take this moment to thank the vast majority of you. We have a community of reasonable size, yet the secret hidden admin forum is almost entirely unused -- the last time anyone required administrative action was over two years ago. You guys are generally pretty great.
Spoonweaver is banned until further notice. He had placed over 300 votes using alt accounts. I deleted them yesterday; today, after learning about the vote wipe, he replaced 11 deleted votes using various alts.
We have rules, and not all of them are written. It should go without saying that gaming the site's ratings is against the spirit of the rules, besides being incredibly petty. Spoonweaver is not the only user to place votes using alts. He's not being banned for that; he's being banned for putting in more votes after finding out that it was expressly prohibited.
Let's make things perfectly clear here:
Don't vote on your own games. The fact that you can't vote for a game using the account that uploaded it should be evidence enough that this is a no-no.
Don't vote under more than one account. There are legitimate reasons for creating alts. While alts are discouraged for general use, they aren't against site rules. But under no circumstances should you use an alt to place a vote.
There's no way to undo a vote. If you've alt-voted, you are welcome to PM me and I will delete all of your illegally-placed votes.
There will be zero tolerance for this rule going forward. Anyone found to be alt-voting in the future will be subject to a permanent ban. Anyone who has previously alt-voted will be grandfathered.
Thanks again for being mostly great and sorry this had to be brought up.

...He got banned? Wow, didn't see that coming.
You mean...I could...Make is alt for the slime arena?!
But, I won't. I'm too nice. And, I don't wanna look desperate...
Not so secret now, Mogri. XDthe secret hidden admin forum
...what do you mean, legitimate reasons? There are legitimate reasons for creating alts. While alts are discouraged for general use, they aren't against site rules. But under no circumstances should you use an alt to place a vote.

No, cheating in the slime arena is not a legitimate reason, which is something that was also done years ago. A legitimate reason for a second name is if you've made a collaborative game and you want to post it under the new, collective name rather than your personal one.Master K wrote:You mean...I could...Make is alt for the slime arena?!

Figured. Thats why I never did it by now. I was tempted to, though...No, cheating in the slime arena is not a legitimate reason
Ah, forgot about that.A legitimate reason for a second name is if you've made a collaborative game and you want to post it under the new, collective name rather than your personal one.

You can make a new account any time. He didn't name them all "Spoonweaver 1, 2 and 3" and (I would assume) he occasionally used different IP addresses.

Like all forums, there is a continuous influx of new accounts from spam robots. It is tough to tell the difference between a spammer account and an alt account from a real person.Master K wrote:So, how could Spoonweaver make all these alts without anyone noticing...? Wouldn't we see a large influx of new joiners...?
Or did he make them way back when?
