Evil Unleashed Game dev thread
Well, here I have started a new thread for the game. Right here, I post stuff, like updated news and such, (and help if i need it), on here.
-Nnyway, all the news I have right now is that the full demo of this is up and running. Check it out if you haven't already. Wait, that isn't all.
-A weapon ammo system is being implemented soon. Just dunno how soon.
-I'll post updates and pics of the game as it is developed.
-After this thread is finished supporting EU, it will go on to support all the other episodes of the game.
------------------------------------
Oh, and if you happen to find a problem in any way with the game, please tell me, and I'll fix it, no prob, and post an update for it. Later!

Well, here's some kewl stuff coming up in the further releases of the Doom RPG series:
--------------------
Classes:
-Crack Shot: No more Wild gunman. This is the real stuff. Incredible Accuracy and power with the pistol/handgun weapons.
-Hunter: Nore more deer, only demons. Skilled expert with Shotgun/ spread-fire type weapons.
-Alltype: You good with your hands? Now you can use any weapon to some extent.
-Berserker: Who needs guns when you're a man and a half? You don't! this class is for those fighters who think guns are for wussies!
-Sharpshooter/Sniper: You can shoot a flea off a dog's back at 2 miles. Take that. Incredible damage and accuracy with rifle-type weapons.
-Heavy Weapons: Here comes the Night Train mowing on through traffic! When you need a big gun, you need a big gun.
-Hell: Conjure up the most forbidden power and weapons known to man. (however, this class is only obtained if you find Charon and reveal Half-Demon [you] in Episode 2-beyond.)
-Saboteur: Explosives your thing? You'd better believe it, when you've got this class on your side.
-------------------------------------------------------------
More strategy is being added: A new ammo system is being put into effect for the new releases of the game. Find all you can. You'll need it.

Files from the UAC: "The Terraformer" - 3/7/2138
A Short story involving the UAC--
--------------------------------------
Before the invasion struck the facility on Tei Tenga, the UAC also performed many demonstrations on their Terraformer technology.
Located at just the midsection of the Darkside Facilities on the moon, this huge facility, the Terraformer, was erected to literally form the surrounding environment into flat areas of surface area, to begin building
other facilities and Colonies.
This tech was shipped to many locations during its time (2120-2137 AD)
Including some of the less-habitable areas of the Earth's lunar surface,
Mars, among other locations. The only now-standing structure remains on the Tei Tenga moon, located not far from the Command Control area on the surface.
The facilities were powered by two nuclear-powered generators like much of the structural work on the moon. However, the Terraformer is only much like a museum artifact now due to its many years of being unused.
The facility is now home to cobwebs, volatile chemicals, and debris.
The Terraformer, if it was powered today, may serve its same purpose as it did 5+ years ago, but with great difficulty. This structure was the original finder of a small portion of the Anomaly now being studied at Tei Tenga Darkside's pole. An evcavation team later found the other Anomaly at Tei Tenga's Lightside pole, however it was some time after the 'former's findings...
<End>
--The Terraformer will be one of the new, unique areas to Doom: Evil Unleashed's full version. Be expecting a new trial of puzzles and action in the full game!--

Working on for the full release as of now:
-Enemy corpses after you kill them in battle, one unique one for each type. (I can't get one to show up after I kill a single opponent for victory, can Someone help me with that?)
-More maps and a lot more animated tiles.
-Tricky environments to traverse, with pitfalls such as nuclear waste, lava, blood, firetraps, chushing ceilings, etc.
-Even more puzzles to solve on your way to the Anomaly.
-Secret areas to access.
-Strategic situations where you must choose wisely in terms of fight or flight, and item use.
-Many new situations where timing is key: Nuclear Meltdown, Air Supply, etc.
-and much more...

Stories from the UAC-
A Quick Explanation on the Anomalies
These experiments on Tei Tenga began with the old Terraformer project. The machine pounded the landscape around itself into a habitable region of land where man could settle, and eventually begin to put up military stations. What it uncovered during one of its sweeps was far from normal.
Apparently, there was some kind of gateway of unknown origin lying beneath the surface of the moon, and the UAC were the lucky people to uncover it. Anyway, aside from that fact, the gateways were covered with all kinds of symbols of some alien kind.
There were two of these gateways, positioned at both sides of the moon, seemingly at their poles. As the Terraformer units uncovered more of these anomalies, the use for them became almost apparent -- these were dimensional gateways!
We tried in vain to open them at first, as to seek some kind of alien contact. Needless to say, we failed. After that, even more military occupation appeared on the moon's surface. They protected the geniuses in the labs during the uncoverings. Protecting them from what? I didn't know at the time.
I eventually found out quite a few days later, during a strange dream I had. Those gateways were never meant to be open, and I'm afraid it's far too late to warn anybody. They have been opened. May god be with me if I am to survive this.

Episode One Intro: (on Game Description)
Episode Two, Through Hell and Back, Intro:
As if your job couldn't go any worse. Just about everyone on Tei Tenga has been slaughtered, and now the infestation reigns supreme on its surface. However, that problem is only the tip of the iceberg.
When at last victory seemed to be in your grasp, the Barons of Hell slaughter Buddy Dacote right before your very eyes. He was your only hope of finding out this invasion truly is, and where it came from. Your team rushes in for the kill only moments too late, and subdue the Barons.
Right before your departure, the Baphomet Lord gives you a grisly encounter with what is to come. It failed to destroy your team, and in its wake stood the Anomaly itself.
It was a huge gate, atop a cliffside. Your team enters, and discovers the most evil secret known to man. This surely was not a portal to another dimension--this was the very gateway to Hell itself!
the gate closes from behind, sealing you in. There must be some escape from this fire-pit. The only way out...is through.
Episode 3, Knee Deep in the Dead, Story:
Many days, or perhaps months, have passed since your confrontation with the General Demon, the Cyberdemon Lord itself. You have defeated Hell, like none have done before you, and you claim his left arm as your prize.
An open gateway leads the way back to Tei Tenga, and you enter. You've proven too tough for Hell to contain, and they finally play fair...or so it seemed.
Upon your exit from the portal, you find your team at Tei Tenga's Lightside base, overrun by the still oncoming demon hordes. There seems to be a lot more than you think, from what you see on radar.
Hell has assembled an army of gigantic proportions, and is stationing a full-scale death march to the rest of the colonies on the moon.
Your mission seems clear now: rescue the remaining survivors on Tei Tenga, then nuke the Hell outta this planet. That should put an end to their terror, at least for a little while.
May God help you if you are to succeed....

Well, it certainly has been a while since I'd reported ANYTHING here, hasn't it? Well, first things first: I'll gladly report that I have reached map 100 of the dame's development, which includes a good portion of the game which includes the following hubs: Lightside Hangar II, Darkside Hangar, Tei Tenga Surface (Darkside North), Underground Base, Barracks, Armory, Nuclear Plant, Toxin Refinery, and Darkside Anomaly.
the following areas are in development, or have been planned:
-Command Control
-Computer Station
-The Terraformer
-Darkside Colony
-----------------------------------------
Now those above are some of the things worked out as of now. Some of the new features to the game include:
-Save Anywhere, Load Anywhere
-Varying Light Levels
-In-battle corpses (still working on)
-In-battle hero sprite changes according to weapon
-certain areas where, if one has the "radiation suit", one can traverse through hazardous areas.
-collapsing floors
-animated cutscenes
-'animated' npcs
-'3d' floors ( I will explain)
----------------------------------------------
I'll post pics soon.

How's this for an overworld map?
Yeah, slowly but surely, I've been working on maps and stuff for my game, along with the tweaking of major stuff, with the help of MJohnson. One of the newest things, as many have found out, is the addition of voice acting. Very good VA stuff, if I might add.
Also, just today, I've received word that Flynn's VA should be sending me sound files tonight or tomorrow morning.
I've also made a spiffy little overworld map for my game, hence the name of the thread breakoff:

Opinions? Comments? Concerns?

Holy Hell. It surely has been a while since I've updated this thread. Kind-of a shame that I don't really have much to report other than the fact that:
-Graphic updates on the game are underway
-I think voice-acting may be out of the question, considering I've not had much support for that one.
-Story and text revisions
-making the maps easier to navigate
-etc.
I just about have the entire "Darkside Crater" Section of the game complete, Waiting until I finish the Command Control area to mark the arrival of a new game update.
- I may scrap the Perk system, considering.. at this time, there really is no use for it. The stat system, however, will stay. It sort-of overpowers the player character early in the game, but when the game progresses, the sheer number and variety of monsters evens out this system.
- In other words, no more mashing the spacebar, and fast-paced (ish) gameplay. grab all the cash you can, stock up on Medkits / defibrillators / ammo, and shoot 'em up. The name of the game's Doom!
Also, I did finish up the story, and finalized it, with no gaps. Here we go:
The Story So Far:
Welcome to the sandy rock you've come to know as Tei Tenga. Not the most interesting place to be, considering it's on what your friends call "The Butt End of Space". The planet looks like something you'd see out of an old Frank Herbert novel, and the climate suits its appearance well. It is on this very planet that you and the company you work for, the United Aerospace Corporation, have picked up an intresting find; something which the 'egghead' scientists in your crew call 'inter-dimensional gateways'.
These said gateways, if they were opened, could possibly allow mankind to establish contact with a foreign alien race, which could provide man with the ability to create new technologies, given if the contact made was non-hostile. The UAC sent down giant terraforming platforms to plow down the sands in order to find these lost gateways, and in the process have set up a series of colonies on the planet's surface, providing encampment for the many soldiers and UAC personnel staying on the surface.
So, how did you end up here, exactly? Quite the funny story, actually. You could've been elsewhere but here, but as luck would have it,(and a little bit of a temper), you were sent here instead of being sent to prison for slugging a superior officer while on duty on Earth, after being ordered to fire upon a crowd of civilians. Now your sentence has you plowing sand into random piles on the planet's surface. This would be fun to perhaps a kindergartener, but you're a marine. You could be policing hallways and the 'Tenga Colony's bar.
Well, at least you do have one thing to brighten up your day a little. Some of your old squadmates from your Alpha Team back on Earth have packed their bags and headed to Tei Tenga to provide security as well, allowing you to get in a few games of Poker when you're off-duty. It was during one of these said poker games that a large occurrence fell upon the Gateway Anomaly divisions on both sides of Tei Tenga, surprisingly equidistant, and at the very polar ends of the planet.
After what seemed months of research and.. very forceful attempts at opening the gateways, all of which had failed, the Gateways suddenly begin to rumble, and begin to open themselves slowly, a blinding reddish light emerging from the both of them. The excavation crew in the area could only stand in awe as they opened, and began to spew forth... creatures. Nobody could describe them, aside from 'extremely hostile' and 'fraggin' evil' through communicators linked in the bases.
The crew that had survived the entrance had limited time to seal off the excavation sites from the rest of the moon, but it was already too late. Tens of hundreds of these monstrosities have already spewed forth, killing anything in sight, including those who had any knowledge of sealing off the facilities.
Your crew, in the barracks area of the Lightside Tei Tenga Hangar II facility, got the blunt end of the attack, with your team fully aware and armed. After listening through the comm-receivers of gunfire, screams, and finally silence, you all vow to find the source of the invasion and seal it off, killing anything that stood in your way, pushing through the planet's facilities to battle the evil unleashed...
---
An ambitious project, and one that's to be expected still. I've not given up, and I don't plan to give up easily.
