Yes Gizmog, slimes are a common monster in most rpgs. However, I was referring to a game that is called "Slimes!". It even has the same "!" at the end. It resembles my game is a couple other ways too, like have different colored slimes, having a pipe theme, having the exits actually say the word exit.

But yes Gizmog, not only do I know it's a common enough name and theme for these things to happen completely separate from each other. I email the guy and he assures me he's never played my game before. ( But does enjoy it now that he's downloaded it.) [ He also thinks there should be a fast button ]

What led me to his game was a little medal next to his entry. I don't know if you've seen these or not, but some games are getting "coolness %" medals. I assume they are the ones favored to win so far, but I'm actually not really sure. Anyone here know of the meaning of these medals?

We never did settle how long the voting period would go on. Does anybody still want to vote who hasn't voted yet?

Unless somebody speaks up and asks for more time, I will probably count votes on friday.

Yes, I forgot.

Escape the Wolf won first place. Virtual School 2 got second place, and the Labyrinth came in third.

Here is how I counted the votes:

Code: Select all

Round 1
8 votes = Escape The Wolf
Winner #1: Escape the Wolf

Round 2
 3 votes = Virtual School 2
 2 votes = The Labyrinth
2 votes = Escape the Zombie Horde
 1 vote = NONE
No 50% majority this round, Labyrinth and Zombie Hoarde temporarily ignored

Round 3
 5 votes = Virtual School 2
2 votes = Monster Out Of Six
 1 vote = NONE
Winner #2: Virtual School 2

Round 4
 5 votes = The Labyrinth
2 votes = Escape the Zombie Horde
 1 vote = NONE
Winner #3: The Labyrinth

Round 5
5 votes = Escape the Zombie Horde
1 vote = Monster Out of Six
 2 votes = NONE
Winner #4: Escape the Zombie Horde

Round 6
6 votes = Monster out of Six
 2 votes = NONE
Winner #5 Monster Out of Six

Round 7
 4 votes = Forest Temple
1 vote = Escape from Strong Castle
 3 votes = NONE
No 50% majority this round, temp ignore Escape from Strong Castle

Round 8
 4 votes = Forest Temple
 4 votes = NONE
Tie for #6 between Forest Temple and NONE

NONE has placed, no further counting.

The Ludumdare voting finally finished today! If you entered there, go and see what your scores are.

My game ranked 12th place for Audio (just humming and grawoling in the microphone!) and ranked #17 for Humor

I came in #102 overall, (out of 509 48 hour contestants total)

"Coolness" means how many other games you played and voted on. They really could have named that category better :)

Alright, so I learned about the fact that Gizmog handed me over his prize. So, i've done a lot of thinking, and did a fair bit of searching through the wiki to see what we could use...it's like getting one wish from a genie, without the horrible side effect (Well, maybe). You could do anything you want! But, the real challenge is to suggest something that is not only useful, but other people would like.

I've been doing a fair bit of thinking, and I came across the Plan for Improved Spell/Attack learning.

I found the ideas on the page really cool.
The gradual learning ideas seem to be the best, and most numerous. If I were to pick something, it would be from that. But, the ideas are all so good! Just look for yourself! It talks about wearing certain equipment while winning will teach you, spell learning meter, using an attack so many times teaches you another, items teaching multiple spells at certain rates, partially learning spells would reduce what it deals (5% learned, 5% damage)...
It's all so cool sounding!

I just wanted to post this up. I'm going to do some thinking on which ONE would be the best one...i'll probably get back here later to post my decision...
