Haven't used this engine since 2005

Talk about things that are not making games here. But you should also make games!

Haven't used this engine since 2005

Post by Alk »

Like the title says, I haven't used this engine since 2005.

I was mostly wondering what improvements have been made to it.

I remember when I was using it that it was a lot of trouble to make clean overlays for characters, on stuff like trees or behind jagged cliffs. Is this do-able now without requiring like plotscripting or changing the hero sprite briefly?

Sound files/MP3s available?

3 Frame attacks still?

Any other major changes over the past few years that are noteable?

I'd check it out myself more but I am at work.

Loads, and it's difficult to list them all. Custom menus, sprite/slice commands, battle engine tweaks, layers, transforming enemies, windowed mode...

Yes you can have... I forget how many tile layers now. Should be enough for your needs

Yes! also OGG, MOD, MID, others.
3 Frame attacks still?
Sadly yes

Sounds a lot better, I remember there was a long delay in updates, like years when I was working on my stuff. Looks like it is a lot more active now.

Makes me want to start making sprites.
