Anybody is welcome to join in, although I ask that you not harass or insult any users on the channel. Doing so as a joke is different from telling somebody they're a failure. This doesn't happen too much even in the other OHR channels, but I really want to discourage it. I think it is always possible to have constructive discussion about games.
The aim of the channel is for people to be able to ask quick questions about OHR features and games. For instance, if you have a quick question like "how do I script this easily" or "what buttons do I press to do this in the editor" we can help. It'd also be a great place to meet other OHR users and ask for feedback on games. Sometimes posting on forums just doesn't cut it, as many of us know.
Anyway, the channel's already set up on espernet.

Here's how you get on it, for those who have no idea how to use IRC.
1. First, get an IRC client. There are many, and you can Google them, but I recommend mIRC (which is lightweight) and Trillian. (which you can plug all your IM clients in to as well. If you already have it, go to Manage Accounts and create an IRC identity)
2. Next, you will need to set up your nickname in settings. If anyone doesn't understand how to do this I'll explain.
3. Connect to Espernet. I recommend going in settings and adding it as one of the default connections, but you can also type:
Code: Select all
/connect irc.esper.net
Code: Select all
/join #slimesalad
NEW RULE INSTATED 10/1/1011:
"Slime Salad After Dark" is in effect
Let's keep the dirty/sex-related/otherwise adult discussion out of the chat until 10 PM EST. Why? Well, people tend to pop in looking for actual OHR help earlier in the day, and that kind of thing could be distracting. I'm not against the discussion, but let's try and stay focused on games primarily, especially during daylight hours. This isn't a STRICT rule, but it is something that I will enforce if necessary.
As Giz stated better than I: Keep #SS PG-13 till 10 PM EST | Cry me a river
