I see only 1 flaw in this logic. Although that is the best way to haddle it at this time without setting-up another channel for #SlimeSaladNSFW or something like that, that this could have issues with younger/easily offended OHRers (I fall into either of these myself :P) in Europe, who are new/unaware of the times they could feel comfortable being on.

That or adding a note to the IRC channels article on the Wiki, that works too.

EDIT: Corrected my grammar (I WILL GET GOOD AT THIS DAMN IT!)

I'm not as concerned about non-US users (i know, it's terrible of me). There just aren't enough of them. The rule is essentially just saying 'keep it civil until MOST people are off work.' I realize it can never work for everybody.

I understand, that does make sense. I seem to have this weird belief that there are more of us, but when I think about it there's only been about 4 European users (including myself) that I've known to frequent the forums.

If it was US timezones wouldn't 8:00pm make more sense?

From now on, every time I connect to #slimesalad in the evening, I am going to be unable to avoid thinking:

"Slime Salad: After Dark. (bom-shikka-shikka) Ohhhhh YEAH! (porn groove music commences)"

Naughty naughty James...
Silly SPAM man, tricks are for kids.

Anybody who is on OHR should already accept the fact of what they're getting into. Were a community of kooks, whackos, insane people, and trolls *looks at Spoonweaver*.

Yeah, though it's a little bit less active now that JSH has abandoned it. Still leaves about a dozen people who chat in there occasionally. #castleparadox has had a surprise revival though (with the same dozen people...).

Yeah, I hoped on it a few ours ago.

Some people on there for conversation.

Being mostly Americans, they aren't really talking.

I have to admit, I'm really surprised at what a large percentage of OHR users are Americans. In some other communities I frequent they're in the minority, with IRC chat rooms that are really alive around now.

Around roughly 1700 GMT onwards typically James is on and it's relatively more active.

Now I am tempted to log on as the token representative of the third world/south east Asia, hehehe :v:
Being from the third world, I reserve the right to speak in the third person.

Sometimes IRC is quiet, sometimes it is active.

I usually lurk throughout the morning and afternoon hours in my timezone (California)

That image makes plenty of sense, aside from the harpoon launcher (or is it a rocket launcher?). I wonder what it's for...

Blowing up and/or lancing communists, clearly.

Hopefully we'll see more use of the IRC channel in the coming months; the more people are active there, the more inclined new guests are to stay. Eggie's around in the afternoon, Giz shows up and chats some of the time, and Hawk had a lovely spiel today that I sadly missed in participation. Just a matter of drawing new prey to the channel so that we may dine upon their unwitting souls.

Airxzen has already lost his, who is next?

Edit:

May be worth giving the OHR community and Slime Salad a booster shot in the arm by gently advertising around some of the RPG communities. I'm sure there're new generations itching to make an RPG that just haven't found a good tool to do it - the craze of the early 2000's left a lot of dead links for anyone who goes looking for a decent tool, and many of the resource sites are completely gone now.
