i still predict 14-2. they'll lose the first few games to not-LA and 18-1 because they'll still be getting used to favre. after 3 weeks, the beast will be unleashed.

Realistically speaking, we're looking at a 10 win team - possibly 11. Maybe contending for a wild card, but almost certainly not in contention for the AFC east (That would require Favre being capable of beating the Patriots, what has happened the last couple of times he's tried that?)

@Miami - Win.
Pats - Loss (although possible win, the Pats will struggle out of the gate).
@San Diego - Loss
Arizona - Win (Battle of the has-beens - Warner v. Favre!)
Bengals - Win
@Oakland - Interesting, I'm not sure how good/bad the Raiders will be. The offense will be better, but the defense is aging. I want to say... Loss
Chiefs - Win.
@Buffalo - Again, interesting. Bills are the up and comer in the AFC East. Win.
Rams - Win.
@NE - Loss, likely a hilarious one at that.
@Titans - Win.
Broncos - Loss.
@49ers - Win.
Bills - Loss, the thing is they split this series, so flip the order if you want.
@Seattle - Win.
Miami - Win.

So there you go, 9 wins. They could sneak a couple more in. The Buffalo games will be interesting, as will the Oakland game. Seattle could sneak up on them, and the Broncos could suck.

The takeaway here is that adding Favre to the Jets makes the Jets better, incrementally, and their offseason moves make them better, significantly, but they aren't the class of the AFC East - let alone the AFC.

warner definitely isn't a has-been, and neither is favre. they've just been thrown out by their franchises.

warner still put up 3500 yards(in 14 games; started 11), 27 TDs, and a 62.3% completion rate. he's still good and he did this with the arizona cardinals. arizona cardinals. let that sink in for a little bit. even if he was 5-6 as the starter, that's still pretty goddamn impressive.... being the cardinals and all

brett favre isn't a has been either. he's been consistently putting up ~4000 yds/season and 20+ tds ever since he started. he was bad in 2000 and 2005 maybe, but there's no sense in painting him off. maybe they haven't been making the playoffs as often as before(like 2 years in a row and no playoffs from 2005-2006). 13-3 last year? plus, they went the distance with the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS. in case you didn't know, the giants had to take it to OT with the packers, and patriots didn't get a chance.
by the way --
18-1
18-1
18-1
18-1
18-1
18-1
18-1
18-1

as for how the jets will do(what i really think):

@Miami - probably a simple win, and kind of good to start off with a struggling team for brett to get used to it
Pats - a tough team early on for a simple offense, though that pats def has gone down significantly, it may not be enough for now
@San Diego - probably a loss, but who knows how their def will adapt to merriman, who will probably fall over and die from stupidity
Arizona - this will probably be a win
Bengals - a win... the bengals have 0 D and they've lost all their starting WRs and want to trade away their RB for one. what???
@Oakland - the raiders are up and coming; it'll be interesting, but i think the jets will take this one
@Buffalo - i don't really see much coming out of buffalo. they haven't been worth a slime since they had doug flutie.
Rams - not sure... this one will be tough as long as the rams are healthy. i'd say a loss
@NE - this one will probably be close. by now favre should be good to go and adapted to the offense well enough to play high level teams
@Titans - gonna be a win. even if the titans do have a killer def, they still have no offense. could go either way, though.
Broncos - this depends... the broncos are pretty talented but they still aren't ready to compete at a high level, i'd say. probably a win for the jets
@49ers - no def and a garbage offense, they'll win for sure.
Bills - i think they'll win it. maybe.
@Seattle - this will probably be a good match, but i think it'd be a loss.
Miami - jets will bench their starters because they've clinched their playoff berth. they'll still win.

definitely 9-7 or 10-6 and maybe 11-5 at best i'd say.

as for the packers:
(slime, this schedule looks tough)

Minnesota - this will be a tough matchup. with how deep the pack's LB core is, i don't see the vikings running over the packer def very much. on the other hand, the pack is going to have some trouble getting the ball moved with the high power of the vikings D. could go either way, i'm hoping W
@Detroit - well, look, it's the lions .....
Dallas - too many egos on dallas, they've got a lot of talent but again, a lot of egos, and dallas is likely to crumble anytime soon. rodgers played pretty damn well against the cowboys last time, and last time we had no charles woodson. the pack should be able to take this one.
@Tampa Bay - the bucs probably won't do so well. win
Atlanta - atlanta's still new, and the pack's secondary and def is just going to be too harsh for any rookie qb, unless said rookie qb is like, peyton manning
@Seattle - another tough one, i want the pack to win it though. they should.
Indianapolis - i don't think the pack will be ready to really compete with a team like indy. they will probably lose BUT if peyton is still going slow, they might come out with a win.
@Tennessee - a great def, but the packer's oline and wrs and rbs are too good to lose. plus, the packer def is going to crush the offense. goes to the pack.
@Minnesota - read what i said for the first one. the vikings will probably take this one though.
Chicago - chicago will get cocky because the packers won't have brett favre. i'm sure that'll make them feel better. but having nothing for offense and a tired defense means you can't win games. goes to the pack
@New Orleans - i'm surprised how poorly they did last season... the saints should be back on top if reggie bush decides to not be reggie bust. they will probably do decent against their def.
Carolina - with delhomme better, the panthers will be tough to face. could go either way, i'm leaning towards a W just because of how poor the def has been.
Houston - the texans have a horrible defense. if they improve it somehow(mario williams isn't enough!), they could do better. for now though, the packers will come out with a win
@Jacksonville - this will be a great game, goddamn i'm glad i'll get to see it. i am leaning towards a win simply because of jville's weaker def. and for the same reason as the vikings, i don't see jones-drew or taylor moving the ball too much.
@Chicago - starters rested, probably a loss
Detroit - a fierce animal but a joke of a team. they fired their offensive coordinator that improved them by 6 points a game. back to 6-10 seasons for them.

so ya dat's what i think. jets and packers will probably be about equal. the packers with brett = super bowl. for sure. it's a shame ted thompson doesn't want that to happen.
