Oh, yeah, I loved his tutorial.

So, I thought I'd highlight some of the details I have planned so far, and here they are:
  • 1.) Dynamic Perspective:
Resident-Evil styled camera for outdoors scenes.
Indoors, you'll get a side-view of the houses, and It'll follow the hero.
In dungeons, It'll be over-head, like Zelda.

2.) All cut scenes will be done either on maps or with the battle engine, none so with a series of backdrops.

3.) A special interface that shows your party members and their HP/MP, using slices, scripting, and probably some help from you guys.

4.) Super clique and cheesy story that I'll force you to devour and love. ( Don't even think of acting like you wouldn't want that. )

5.)The game's different sections will be categorized as "Scenes".

That is all.

I made some changed to the map, and I think It looks a lot better.

The tree is still too short and the leafy area is too small. It's gonna stay that that way. The game and everything in it's fictional and fiction is always a great excuse for being lazy. :p

Anyways, here's what I have done so far:
  • That map.
    One walkabout.
One backdrop. ( 40 frames of animation. )
Two frames of two different battles sprites.
    No music/sound.
About 10% of the intro-scene scripted out.
I still have a long way to go.

If I may ask, how many tiles did you use in the grass? Just the main section, not necessarily the borders on the skyline

I didn't make that screen with tiling. I drew it in GG and then imported, and placed all of it into a map. That's how I'll be doing all outside scenes, too.

If you're wondering how I made the grass anyways, though... I made about a 32x32 tile and copy and pasted it non-uniformly all over.

It's for the prologue.

By the way, if it's possible to enter battles without the fade, I'd love to know how.

Oh, and, don't expect much more screens! If I show you it all now, It wont be as awesome when you play it. ;)

I would have to add a bitset, but it wouldn't be too hard.
