Cave Story! Whee!

Talk about things that are not making games here. But you should also make games!

[Cave Story Wii]

This game's been out on WiiWare for over a week and nobody told me!
Anyway, discuss Cave Story here. Compare it to the PC version if you want.

IN THE WII VERSION THEY TURNED THIS

tigsource.com has been hyping Cave Story Wii for a while, so I was anticipating it eagerly. I downloaded it on the weekend, but I have only had a little time to play. it feels like the same game I remember, in spite of the graphical updates.

I find it really weird that everything is unlocked from the start, I'm not used to that.
THIS INCLUDES BOSS RUSH, SACRED GROUNDS SPEEDRUN, AND CURLY MODE.

I ended up playing "Curly Story" from the start by accident, and thought they switched the characters around completely. Nope, I just slipped my thumb.
It's virtually identical to the main story, except Curly talks here and there, which makes "conversations" extremely awkward because nobody seems to listen to her much.

(Also Curly can sleep with Chaco and get her lipstick. Make of that what you will.)

Hurray Cave Story!

I love this game and I'm glad to see it's gotten the attention it deserves. Warms the heart to know that if an indie game is good enough that it will climb to the ranks of most commercial games.
This trend is very promising to us.

:( Sadly, I don't have a WII. Thus must stick with the sad/old PC version. :(

The extra game modes sound awesome. Though, changing "Huzzah" into, "Oh, Yea!" is just weird.

If I recall correctly, the dialog we all know and love came from an unofficial english translation of the japanese version.

Maybe they re-translated it all?
