Importing new master palettes buggy?

Post by Aeth »

I'm trying to import a new master palette to make sure I don't accidentally go over the 16 color limit somewhere for the 8-bit contest, but when I import my palette, uh...well, just look:

Image

The palette I'm using is just a top row of colors and the rest is black. I've also tried this by copying the same row of colors to all rows, got the same thing.

Nope, using the latest stable version.

Edit: Still can't get it to work, could I ask for the palettes.bin file that you have with it working? aethereall@gmail.com -- I appreciate it.

Alternatively, you could probably take a screenshot in-game, and then edit the palette of the resulting .bmp, then import that .bmp as your new palette.

I'm not really sure, but I played around with the color settings in Photoshop and it managed to import correctly.

if you're importing from a bmp, the OHR reads the palette used for the BMP rather than the image of the BMP itself. Meaning, your entire image could be blank when importing, but the OHR will still read the palette that was used for the image.

So, if you're using a BMP, make sure you change to Image>Mode>Index Colors, then change it to "Exact"
