With 20 minutes to spare, Issue 32 meets its December 1st deadline. Well done! We've got lots of reviews of new games this month, the further adventures of Surlaw, and gangsta rap. Be sure to vote on your favorite articles.

James is credited in the contributor's list. Is there an article I'm missing of his, or what?

I really liked this issue, it's one of the few ones i've clicked every link on it, mainly because everything looked interesting!

I would like more tutorials, however. Theyre what i really like. Previews too!
Blip.

I've said this elsewhere, but the review of Do You Want to be a Hero? (and the discussion that ensued) was really helpful. And the Bob rap is still really great.

I just finished, and I think the issue is just a really solid issue. I enjoyed this Ask Surlaw a lot more, I think maybe because it was in a writing format instead of typed dialogue? Nah, probably because I love George Harrison.

I'm surprised no one has started talking about JSH's feature yet. While I don't know if I disagree with his assessment for the community as a whole, I do find myself to be a basic counter-example. I never, or only very rarely, think about the community when I work on my games, and I never pay attention to the various contests. In fact, I ignore those posts more than any others (unless you count the Slime Arena and/or CP's journals).

A pretty review-heavy issue, and I thought the reviews were pretty well done. This might contribute to the relative lack of comments thus far - what is there to say about well-written reviews of scarcely played games other than "Nice review"?

I didn't say every user makes games with the community in mind, just that the community is a "feature" of the engine (which Sleepover exploits).

Reading your article again, my comment is a little off-base in regards to making games with the community in mind. I must admit I read the following:
We try to run away from the idea, but it is very true that most OHR games are only going to be played by the denizens of Slime Salad and Castle Paradox. Over time, this community has become so ingrained in the engine's history that a wide span of games have emerged clearly intended only for this small set of people.
as implying much more than it does, and that's my mistake. I still find your comment about many authors being 'contest junkies' to be most likely true, just funny that I'm the opposite.

Oh, and thanks for the holiday wishes! I hope your holiday went well too!

Haha, I'm glad someone caught that. This Ask Surlaw was definitely more structured and had more of an obvious "plot" to it. The final one will be even more so.

Dangit! How could I miss the L in "Bobblin" not just once, but four times?!

Any particular reason that I'm a turkey?

I'm glad you did, because I liked the joke.

There's no reason for the turkey. There's no reason Fenrir is Stimpy, either.
