Who here has downloaded it, and what do you think of it compared to Firefox 2?
So far, I'm not sure I like it much better, or notice much difference. It says that it renders pages faster, but it actually seems to be going slower for me. I'm not sure about using less system resources either, it seems to be consistently using more than 2. Plus, it currently doesn't support the Realplayer video download add-on, so that's another minus.
But what do I know? You guys tell me what you think.

That sounds like a plus. People need to stop with that slime.Lonely Rolling Star wrote:Plus, it currently doesn't support the Realplayer video download add-on...

I have been using Firefox 3 for a couple months (since it was in beta)
I haven't noticed any serious differences other than the awesomebard, which annoyed the heck out of me for about 2 days-- until I got used to it,and now I love it and miss it whenever I am using a computer with an older Firefox.
I haven't noticed any plugin problems (I am using a combination of the mplayer plugin and the totem plugin on Linux.)
The only extension I use is adblock plus, so I haven't noticed any problems there.
I cannot tell whether it is any faster or not. I am of the opinion that network speed matters so much more than browser speed that browser speed is largely irrelevant.
<s>As for the "blurry zooming" issue, I wasn't even aware that firefox could ever zoom. How the heck do you zoom? (and why?)</s>
Oh, I get it. it scales everything with a bilinear filter, which mangles pixel art... except It doesn't happen for me at all. No idea why. <s>Is it a Windows-only feature?</s>
EDIT: okay, I tested on my Mac, and I see it there. I don't know if the feature just doesn't work on Linux, or if the Ubuntu people patched it out when they packaged Firefox 3.

You can zoom in on forums that have the zoom feature, such as Castle Paradox or Pixelation. The problem is, Firefox will use filtering to smooth out images at different sizes. This was meant for the view image feature for pictures that were too large, but in the end it ruins the ability to zoom in pixel art.
