I'm gonna try and submit Mr.Triangle's Maze for it. I think it's a great idea. If these people play ohr games, or some of them recognize them later on (like if Vikings made it in), we could get some new people coming in.

James' contest sets us all up for this too.

If you really want, i've been making music with gameboys and can make a few songs for you, maybe even some midi ones, with credit of course ;)

i appreciate the offer but i'm actually looking to get mp3s for the game so idk if your style of music and the style of Genesis would mesh up quite right. :]

I'd totally enter Village People if the whole copyrighted characters/music thing wouldn't disqualify it.

FYI, the entry fee is $100 ($75 with a GameStop Edge membership).

Is anyone thinking of entering despite the fee?

Hmm, nice job noticing that, Mogri. I was seriously considering entering. I had already made plans for a pitch video. ( I may still make it anyways though ) Until I saw the $100 entry fee. They really ask a lot from their contestants. 10 CD copies, a pitch video, $100 doallrs, etc; and You may not get anything at all. Though, I'm sure they gain the right to do whatever they want with your game.

Anyways, I also noticed that teams are allows 3 entries. So, maybe some people can partner up and form the OHR team.

I may willing to join the team if you think I'd be a good pick.
My game would be slimes. ( Which should be done by about Sept. 1 )

EDIT: After reading carefully, I'm not sure if the $100 applys per game, or per "ENTRANT" ( which are allowed 3 games ) If someone could check on this, that would be great.

ALSO; as an alternative to submitting 3 separate games. We could, as a team, make a game. We'd apparently only have to make it to beta, and make a pitch video. So really the sky's the limit, even with the time restraints.

Lucier:

I've submitted a couple of creative-commons licensed musical pieces to Kongregate that you can use if you want. Listen to them here:

hey, thanks for the links! i dig them both so i'll see if we can find a place for 'em. do you happen to know of any other places i should look for good royalty free video game music? we have a couple people working on music for the game but i'm worried there's still going to be a few tracks we'll need.

All of the music on Kongregate Collabs is creative-commons licensed, so that's a decent place to look, though there are different flavors of licenses so make sure you know what you're getting into. Some will require that you don't sell your game, that you don't alter the music, or even that you license your work under the same license the music is under.

For the record, my tracks are under the most lenient license; you're free to do whatever you want with them (sell your game, alter the songs, even alter the songs and then sell them) as long as I get credit somewhere.
