Artwork display/webcomic scroller

Talk about things that are not making games here. But you should also make games!

Artwork display/webcomic scroller

Post by Only One In All »

Is there an efficient/best way to display many pieces of artwork?

More importantly though, what is the best way to put up a webcomic? Is it better to just make a separate page for each strip, or is there some way to make it all on the same page, but it just scrolls through each comic based on the date?

I recall when Fortis used to do his Awkward Stage webcomic and he had something similar to what I am talking about, but I'm not sure about the best way to go about doing this. Any links or suggestions?

I don't know if it is what you are looking for, but I just added a source code link at the bottom of http://hamsterrepublic.com/bobcomic/ so you can see how I did it in php.

I've got Javascript code that does this that I throw in with the zipsets of my all but defunct comic.
Really easy to make a page with that.

Thanks to both of you guys! I'll be sure to give credit to one or both of you, depending on whose I end up eventually using. :)

I found the one with Uncommon's to be the easiest one to use. Thanks again to both of you though!

I'd like to credit you, and if I remember correctly, your name is Kingston Rockwell. Will that work out for when I give credit to you on my site?

Technically, SDHawk gave me the script, since it was mostly to give him a reader interface.

and if you ever use the full first name you include the middle initial, Kingston C. Rockwell, otherwise it's just King Rockwell

Ah, I see, thanks. So then should I technically credit SDHawk as well? If so, is SDHawk sufficient, or does he prefer to be credited with a different name?

SDHawk is the only think I've ever known him as.
