The Hamster Wheel

Post by Meatballsub »

To those that care or are curious, The Hamster Wheel has been and will be done for probably a couple of weeks. The content that is up thus far will still be accessible, but don't expect any updates for a few weeks.

I decided that doing all of the work by hand would probably end up being to much for me to handle, so I am re-writing the entire site PHP. I plan on also making it more dynamic, allowing users to create a login name and keep track of certain games/sections from their control panel.

You will also be able to sort and truncate all of the lists and by many different categories, which I think will be pretty cool.

Since I know very little about PHP and MySQL, this will take some time. However, I feel like I've already come a long way within the first few days, and will improve each day that I work on it. I think the updated site will be worth the wait.

Stay tuned...

Feel free to post any questions you might have during the course of the project (or pm me). Obviously, Moogle has plenty of knowledge about this, and what you're describing is the type of thing I do for a living, so I'm happy to offer some help.

Things are coming along nicely. It has been a ton of work, but I think I may have the majority of the site up in its new form within a couple of weeks.

All I can say is that databases are a lifesaver. I wish I would have learned this stuff a long time ago.
