Holy slime, I LOVE this style of pixel art. It's definitely a fan-game that takes note of it's source material. Remember the weird shaped trees in early Wandering Hamster builds? This game does.

Re: Hype Up Your Game Thread
Figured I'd post here instead of making a new thread for my demake. As I said in the contest thread, I'm demaking Red Dead Redemption 2. So far, I've got a couple of sprites drawn.
I love RDR2, but I wish it had just been an outlaw sim. I wish the whole game had been Chapter 2. So that's what I'm going to do.
Some changes I'm making, some of which I mentioned already:
-You don't play as Arthur. I couldn't justify starting an RPG at level 1 as someone as tough and skilled as he is. Instead, you start as a random fella named "Joe" who's a new recruit into the gang.
-You can "recruit" other gang members to follow you. The other new guys, like Sean, Lenny, and Kieran, will join you right off the bat if you want. To ride with Arthur or John however, you'll have to earn their trust.
-The whole thing is about bringing in food and money back to camp to keep the gang going. That's it. You can do that however you want. You can rob people, or chase down other outlaws for the reward. Or you can hunt. Or whatever.
-Custom encounter system: I want to do something like the original Sid Meier's Pirates!. Instead of going straight to a battle, you get a menu, where you choose whether to attack, talk, or leave them alone. Quite frankly, if I can just get THIS system working by the deadline, I'll be happy.
-Micah. There will be no Micah. He's dead when the game starts.
-The other outlaw gangs will be motivated by MONEY. If they could make as much money legally, they would. The Murfree Brood will be just a bunch of violent hillbilly thugs, and not horror movie villains. The Lemoyne Raiders are not still waging the Civil War - they were started by ex-Confederates, sure, but they're just robbers.
Hopefully soon I'll be posting some screenshots.

Very cool! That's a project I had briefly considered tackling once upon a time.
