Considering that the contest is based on working with limited colors, and not programming, I think this makes perfect sense.

Without stacking, my game is pretty much dead.

Well, sorry. It is impossible for me to satisfy everyone's wants in this contest. I don't think we had a problem with this last year and the contest went just fine.

On second thought if you are not getting more colors out of it then I don't see what the problem Is with doing it. I'm sorry I seem a bit wishy washy, it's been one of those weeks.

Any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

I was thinking of entering, not I'm not going to be able to meet the uploading deadline. I simply don't have free time on Sundays. In any case, I was expecting we'd be using the 56 color master palette the person with the moogle avatar found.

So anyway, I'll need to make my master palette and change some of my backdrops a little.

Well, I'd better start making my game instead of just drawing its graphics now.

I say do what you can for the contest. We had people last year submit incomplete games and it was just fine. Don't feel obligated to submit something though.

I have yet to decide to make this a paper mario type game, where encountering the monsters will cause a battle, or a basic side scroller.

hey guys like my palette?

EDIT: at this point i basicly copyed and pasted the scripts from the ss101 tutorials. ill edit it later.

Noir means black. I'm not sure what you're getting at here.

Screenshot looks nice.

Yep. I know, but I more meant <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film_noir">noir</a>. Obviously it isn't, but the lighting puts me in mind of that.

Yes I do.

I say make it a pure sidescroller, just because I want to see more good OHR sidescrollers.

Just to clarify on a few things that have been asked about:

- Feel free to use ANY and ALL 16 colors for text box portraits
- Lighting fade-in/out scripts are acceptable (for now)

I can't upload my game on Sunday because that's one of the days I work. I can put it up on the Friday before, or the Monday after.

In any case, here's a look at my heroes.

Image
Top to bottom: Kenneth Latrans, Lesley Ulfson, Hera Hare, and TOBMAC.

And I'm going cartoony for the attack grahics.

I heartily approve of those graphics. I look forward to playing the game. Rabbit looks a little flat, though, particularly when she's bowing.

I'm taking what I hope will be a unique approach. And I'm FINALLY done with school, so I can start now!
