I haven't gotten terribly far or anything in it, but for the most part I love everything about it. It's really fun and really awesome. I had NO IDEA in what context Mr.Triangle would be used. And I'm very happy to say I approve. Haha. Great job man.

If there's a way you could upload a Monsterology of this game so to speak, so those of us who haven't gotten very far could see what is to come as you progress.

The Mr.Triangle's Maze demo is going to have to be really something special to beat this game now. Good thing Worthy built the most insane boss battle ever over the weekend. We were pulling our hair out all last night getting everything to work on it (and it does now, heh). We'll be playtesting it all day making sure all of the new stuff works just right, then you should see it later today or tonight.

I think this year's contest might just be even better than last years. And I didn't think that was humanly possible at this point, heh. Definitely need to do this every year.

Spoonweaver wrote:I figure the picture might need explaining. First, I died, in 1 player mode, and got like 5th place in highscores, yay. Anyways, I restarted as Misa, but then noticed that was wrong and I don't want to use the wasd keys so I started bob up and began to play. A few random unexplained deaths later ( which i assumed was the wrong hampster dieing when one of them got hit, but I'm kind of unsure) I found myself not appearing on the screen, misa having -1 life, and still being able to blow bubbles. So of course i blew the heck outta those bubbles and the game basically froze at that point and I had to ctrl-alt-delete.
I got this too, but it actually caused the game to force-quit itself.

Also, is the last boss killable? I bubbled him, took down his life, tried to pop him and he just came back to life, but with the bubble still around him.

Aside from these issues, this is one of the best games on the engine by far and it beats the hell out of the Wii remake of Bubble Bobble. This is an A+.

Yes, he's killable. This goes back to the "bubbles are hard to pop" issue.

I popped the bubble he was in though, or it sure looked like it, and it just restored his life bar. I tried about five times.

I really wish this game had a password function, but man, it's great.

I get stuck on the lightning bolt level. I know I suck. But the bolts on the right are inside the wall and I can't get to them, and I suck at aiming with the 2 that come up from the left hand side. I've played it twice now and had the same results. Anyone else have this issue?

If you burp bubbles towards the right side, you can sort of push them off and make them reappear on the left side, where you can just about pop them.

Falling Mr.Triangle level was probably the hardest, imo.

Really like how much more merciful this game is!

Yow! You must have found some kinda bug!

Hey, can you check your g_debug.txt file?

I am pretty sure there are some bugs in the slice system that could be causing corrupted slices. That seems to be the clearest explanation for the fact that popping a billion bubbles results in a crash rather than an absurdly long slow delay. Also worthy reported a crash to be caused by freeing an invalid slice under certain conditions. The -1 life bug that Spoonweaver saw, and the Boss-revives-with-full life bugs could also be related, as they both seem like the sort of thing that could happen if slice references were getting switched with one another.

I'll definitely have to do a post-contest bugfixing release.

I gotta fix the wind on this one. It should push the bubbles further in, so you don't have to push them out with your own bubbles.

Yay! I'll me doing this again. I'm glad to see somebody else taking up the tradition too. It is a lot of fun.... and I think in the long run it could bring some new users to the engine via Youtube.

Worthy and I are officially sick and tired of this damn game.

There are a couple things we know about, that we didn't have time to fix and are too exhausted to fix. There is now level warping (wahoo!). But unfortunately, you will only be able to do it for the first batch of levels. This was a bug we know how to fix, it's just taking longer. The other bug is on Level 20, if you send both characters down the conveyor belts at the same time sometimes Mr.Triangle gets broken, so when you get there, please please please send them down one at a time.

But all in all, I hope you guys enjoyed it. We busted our slimes to get this thing ready. Even if it's got some bugs in it...

A refreshing tidbit for new players. You can save now, at certain times. There will be a save spot at the end of the demo. So you will not have to replay the 22 stages unless you want to.

Sorry again about the bugs. We're fed up with this game, and have been working everyday on it. Give us a week, and we'll upload a new version.

Enjoy.

EDIT: Okay, I realized the warping doesn't work at all. So I removed it from this version of the demo. Warping is so close to being ready for you guys. You will like it. Just give us some time, there won't be anymore levels for the next update we're going to post. But all of the bug fixes will be done.

My entry, Entrepreneur: The Beginning, is up.

As usual, I was too ambitious and ran out of time. So the instructions are incomplete. There are some gameplay elements missing, too, which I've written in the README for those who are interested. But the instructions are limited at the moment.

I'll upload a new version with completed instructions in the next day or two.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please ask. I want to make the gameplay experience as painless as possible. Hopefully you'll figure out the system without my help, but I'll be checking the forums off and on tonight in case you're having problems with a feature or just don't understand how to play the game.

Just a note: It is possible to finish the game. There are actually three different endings with 27 achieveable entrepreneurial ranks. But many of the features I'd hoped to include to make it even more immersive were gonna take too long to build, so I had to cut them until the next version (which I will still implement soon). So enjoy what's there, just know that it isn't all there yet.

Okay, go have fun.

Just to let you know, I uploaded the full instructions to this game finally. It's a separate attachment under the game's listing, so you don't have to worry about downloading the whole thing again.

For those of you who have been having problems with the game, this is a necessary download.

For those who've figure it out without them, good job.

I really need to draw more maptiles for my game, and turn the lab into an actual dungeon. Giant, SMB1-esque pipes and wooden crates are lab equipment? Longedge Tech should be more cutting-edge than that.

Amerian is not a typo, in case anyone cared, it's a reference to when someone spell American that way on CP (I figured it sounded like a nice, believable name for a made-up country, and a lot better than my old Japanophile fantasy land of Jamerica). Detroy followed naturally from the same train of though.

I liked Slime War a little; it plays like no game I've ever touched before, but my I keep pressing the wrong numbers (I wish the controls had been closer to the middle of the keyboard and/or spaced further apart)

I liked Light Fight only a little better than this. Russian Dance attack aside, I didn't really care for it.
Remeber: God made you special and he loves you very much. Bye!
