Thanks! I just downloaded and played it to make sure everything was working, and (shockingly) there were a few typos in my hastily written instructions! Don't have time to fix them right now, but my main worry is that the instructions are too confusing. So, if anyone has any questions about how the game works, please ask!

Yeah, the construction worker is just a pacing guy with a (currently) unique walkabout.

Anyway, I've just fixed a couple of small problems and expanded the demo slightly(the six of you that downloaded it yesterday will know the difference).
Remeber: God made you special and he loves you very much. Bye!

It is excellent, except I get a division by zero error when I don't eat enough soap.

Eeep! Division by zero?

Are you using the included nightly build?

And in precisely which way are you failing to eat enough soap?

Jamming on enough buttons during the first phase of the game will make it so the soap never reaches you. After long enough, I get a division by zero error. I'm using the included exe.

Another bug I noticed: Tim is more annoying in this game than he is in Timpoline. This should not technically be possible.

I can reproduce this. I'll upload a fix before the contest deadline.

I know!
What is crazy is that he has the simplest AI of any monster!

sigh... you're game's amazing.

:)

anyways, there seems to be problems with the 2 player mode. Concerning life loss.

Also, huge lagging when there's too much bubble fun going on.

Both of which can be seen in this screenshot.

EDIT BONUS:

I figure the picture might need explaining. First, I died, in 1 player mode, and got like 5th place in highscores, yay. Anyways, I restarted as Misa, but then noticed that was wrong and I don't want to use the wasd keys so I started bob up and began to play. A few random unexplained deaths later ( which i assumed was the wrong hampster dieing when one of them got hit, but I'm kind of unsure) I found myself not appearing on the screen, misa having -1 life, and still being able to blow bubbles. So of course i blew the heck outta those bubbles and the game basically froze at that point and I had to ctrl-alt-delete.

SECOND EDIT BONUS: Also, Steve is not nearly as deadly as he should be.

This is my new favorite OHR game.
SECOND EDIT BONUS: Also, Steve is not nearly as deadly as he should be.
Steve is completely fine. Possibly the deadliest enemy of them all due to having a very good ranged attack.

I'm glad people are enjoying this :)

Spoonweaver,
I'll try and reproduce the -1 life problem. I haven't done much multiplayer testing unfortunately. Mostly just some left-hand-right-hand play.

As for the too-many-bubbles problem, yeah, I know. It's a great way to stress-test the slice system :) Maybe it will lead to some engine optimizations. Also, I'll bet my bubble-to-bubble collision algorithm could be improved. Right now I think it is n^2 time

Also, I uploaded a fix for the division by zero error that Mogri spotted.

Another minor error:

When you continue (i.e. run out of lives, then continue), you start from where you died instead of respawning.

I hadn't started :hurr:. Still, <stan>because YOU demanded it</stan>, I whipped something up in a day. It's not good, I'm mostly not thrilled with it, but it's 8-bit, it's done, and it'll get at least 1 point for 80s references. Whoo.

The Wizard, the Thief, and the Lich. Sadly, it's not a sitcom, though now I wish it were.
