On his turn, Beardthar will try to hit the skeleton, remembering that his staff worked decently against the bony brutes when they encountered them before

Berry gives the nearest skeleton the ol' one-two! Followed by the ol' three-four! It's a veritable flurry of blows!

Princess Berry

Princess Berry lashes out with her chair pummelling the skeleton.

Flurry of Blows

Blow 01: 19 + 2 - 2 + 2 = 21 Hit! Berry hits for (1d6[6] + 3) 9 damage
BLow 02: 11 + 2 - 2 + 2 = 13 Miss!
Total Damage: 9

The first attack smashes into the skeleton's head, whipping it back with a sickening crunch. The second blow though, misses its mark and fails to connect with the reeling skeleton.

Tim-Tim

Tim-Tim moves a bit closer and hurls his dagger at the skeleton.

Tim-Tim: 16 + 3 + 1 = 20 Hit! Tim-Tim hits for (1d4[4] + 0 - 5) 0 damage

By an extraordinarily amazing stroke of luck, the dagger flies true and enters the rib-cage of the skeleton. Unfortunately though, the skeleton has no internal organs to speak of and it simply ignores the dagger still jutting out of its chest.

Inquisitor

The inquisitor moves closer to the dwarf, finally coming into view of many of the others who all feel their knees start to weaken with fear.

Will: (1d20 + Bonus + Misc)
  • Akbar: Immune
    Berry: 4 + 3 + 5 = 12 Fail
    Hobor: 20 + 2 + 5 = 27 Success
    Peanut: 10 + 2 + 5 = 17 Success
    Rhaedoc: 1 + 4 + 5 = 10 Fail

Akbar, radiates a powerful aura of calm that helps the others resist the foul effects of the Inquisitor's fearful presence as he himself is immune to the undead monster's terror.

Princess Berry sees the horrible creature and is stricken with fear, her heart turning to ice and her legs to jelly. The presence of the paladin does little to help and she is consumed with thoughts of fleeing from the monster before her.

Calling on his inner dwarfiness, Hobor steels himself against the foul terror of the creature and resolves to do all he can to kill it.

Peanut is rather taken aback by the Inquisitor's appearance around the corner of the passage, but he finds strength in the Paladin's courage and shakes off the effect.

Rhaedoc, despite attempting to bolster the courage of all the others, stops and turns white at the sight of the inquisitor. He drops his weapons and turns to flee.

The Inquisitor then fixes the closest person, Hoboro, with its glare, attempting to bring the dwarf under its power.

Hobor: 4 + 2 + 0 = 6 Fail

Hobor feels his limbs lock up and he finds that he can no longer move. He falls to the ground, unable to move or even twitch.

Cackling insanely, the Inquisitor lashes out with its claws at the paralyzed Hobor.

Inquisitor: 13 + 1 + -1 = 13 Hit! Inquisitor hits for (1d6[4] + 0) 4 damage

The talons rake into Hobor, and he can feel the vile corruption of the Inquisitor's touch leeching into his veins.

Beardthar

Beardthar rushes up to the skeleton, and as he does so, he takes a powerful two-handed swing aimed at the skeleton's head.

Beardthar: 11 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 16 Hit! Beardthar hits for (2d6[10] + 3) 13 damage

The head pops off the body with the sheer power of the blow, and it flies off down the corridor almost out of sight.

Spittle is embarassed to find himself all alone and decides to tuck in closer to the combat, behind the paladin. He doesn't see anything he can do to help right now, but maybe something will present itself if he keeps in formation.

Spittle

Spittle moves closer to Akbar, standing just behind him and ready for anything.

Agrendaf the Hungry

Agrendaf runs forward to stand shoulder to shoulder with Akbar.

Peanut

Unable to get a good shot what with all the people in front of him, Peanut runs ahead and then looses an arrow at the undead monster down the corridor.

Peanut: 15 + 3 + 1 + 2 = 21 Hit! Peanut hits for (1d6[4] + 0) 4 damage

The arrow flies true and punches into the Inquisitor, though it seems to be only mildly inconvenienced by the projectile.

Peppermint

All alone near the back, Peppermint decides it might be a good idea to find some cover and ducks into the room with the paladin.

Defiling Skeleton 1

The bones twitch on the ground, and the gem in the forehead of the skull a few feet away starts to glow brightly.

Holy Saint Akbar al-Akbar

Holy Saint Akbar al-Akbar rushes over to the skull and takes a massive swing at the gem.

Akbar: 13 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 19 Hit! Akbar hits for (2d4[5] + 3) 8 damage

The skull shatters under the attack and the glow fades to nothing.

Hobor Blacknose

Hobor is paralyzed and cannot move.

Defiling Skeleton 2

The skeleton brings its axe to bear and attempts to finish the dwarf.

Defiling Skeleton: Critical hit![/b] Defiling Skeleton hits for (1d6[10] + 4) 14 damage

Fortitude: (1d20 + Bonus + Misc)
Hobor: 4 + 5 + 0 = 9 Fail

Hobor shudders as the axe enters his chest, then he gasps, and then breathes no more.

Rhaedoc the Knife

Frightened by the presence of the foul undead monstrosity, Rhaedoc turns tail and runs.

Princess Berry

Likewise affected by the Inquisitor, Berry too turns to flee.

Tim-Tim

Tim-Tim moves closer, and gets his first glimpse of the blue guy.

Will: (1d20 + Bonus + Misc)
Tim-Tim: 13 + 6 + 4 = 23 Success

Perhaps driven slightly mad by the pain in his hand, he completely disregards the horrifying appearance of the inquisitor and merely brushes off what fear there may have been.

He twirls his hands around, gritting his teeth against the residual pain.

Spell Failure: [1d100] = 83 Success

He manages to ignore the pain and sends two bolts of energy streaking forward.

Missile 01: 1d4(2)+1 = 3
Missile 02: 1d4(3)+1 = 4
Total Damage: 7

Both bolts smash into the undead creature, forcing it back a couple of paces.

Inquisitor

Seemingly infuriated by the attack, it steps forward and lashes out with its whip at the gnome.

Inquisitor: 7 + 1 + 6 = 14 Miss!

It mistimes the attack though, and Tim-Tim is able to nimbly get out of the way before the whip can connect.

Chills of terror run up and down Beardthar's spine. He just watched that other dwarf die, and he fears the rest of them will go down one after another against this foe.

But he is standing right there, face to face with the thing, so he does his best to hit it as hard as he can with his staff

Spittle's ashamed of himself for having retreated and arguably let this happen. In light of the new urgency of things, he's gonna step to that spooky man and go down swingin.

Beardthar

Beardthar takes his staff in both hands and swings at the Inquisitor.

Beardthar: 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 6 Miss!

Beardthar misses horribly. More than that, he slams his quarterstaff into the wall. The impact jars Beardthar, and his weapon falls out of his hands.

Round 04

Spittle

Spittle moves up towards the spooky man and attempts to trip him.

Melee Touch Attack: 11 + 3 + 3 + 0 = 17 Hit!
Opposed STR/DEX Check: 4 + 3 + 3 + 0 = 10 Success!
The Inquisitor falls prone!

With the inquisitor on the ground, Spittle brings his halberd down to bear.

Spittle: 14 + 3 + 2 + 3 = 22 Hit! Spittle hits for (1d10[7] + 4) 11 damage

The blade of the halberd bites deep into the spooky flesh. The wound looks bad, but the inquisitor does not cry out; if anything, it looks rather angry.
