First off, I'm totally about to play some Weegee! Looks incredibly awesome.

It's a little hard to hype my game up when my artistic skills are not anywhere on par with some of the things posted here--I'm extremely intimidated by graphic artist!

BUT I worked on this screen half the morning and since I got off work at 10 and I thought I'd share. It's for a scene in the middle of the game:

Now, keep in mind I just started learning how to draw about three months ago and before then I couldn't even draw a decent stick man.

You're very self-critical. Sure, it's no daVinci, but really, that's not bad. Really LOOKING at it shows what you tried and where, and it's quite obvious the effort given.

Without getting too critical, your guy's face looks like a deformed, mushy blob. The shading/lighting seems almost random, and if it's meant to be anything else, I can't tell. The art's pretty bad, but not in a lazy or repulsive way, so it's fine. It'll be really cool if your game turns out to be one of those where the player can actually see the artist's transition from "Bad" to "good" throughout the course of the game.

Probably will be one of those games as I'm learning something new every time I sit down and work on my game. While the picture isn't great it was good enough for me to go back and redo most of the portraits in the game to improve them.

1984? Yeah right, man. That's a typo. Orwell is here now. He's livin' large. We have no names, man. No names. We are nameless!

If the game is good enough, people will be willing to overlook the graphics.

The only real problem with your portrait there is that the guy lacks a chin. That's not going to kill your game, but it's obviously not helping, either.

Some advice:
Don't always free hand draw with your mouse (at least that's what I'm assuming you did). Sometimes it's better to go pixel by pixel.

Look at pictures of people. Not everyone has a perfectly symetrical face/features, but they are usually proportionate with the rest of their face/body.

Thanks for the tip. Like I said before, I just picked up a few books on face and character drawing and a sketchbook a few months ago. As terrible as this portrait may be it's actually a lot better than what I was capable of drawing a couple months ago. I still have a lot of trouble with shading and perspective.

While I'm not good enough to call myself an artist, I could give you a few shading advice and tips on AIM if you'd like. ^^

I love the background though, you've placed effort in your drawing and it shows! ♥

Dude, I call myself an artist* and I'm less than 1% as good as you. Heck, from what I've seen, you're an even better artist than Fenrir.

* But not a good one.

You might not call yourself an artist but from the looks of it I'd kill to have just a fraction of your ability. Also, I rarely use IMs, too much distraction.

Chill, guys. Mewmew is either the most humble person on this forum, or some kind of bizarro-world reverse-psychology trickster.
Regardless, get back to hyping your games!

I was wanting to save this for later, but my right-hand composer is back on his feet after avoiding a near-fatal computer crash, and we're celebrating with a little collaboration. It's going in Expedition as a battle theme. http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/419410

Alright, let's not argue. Let's hype games. This wasn't an invitation to another argument. This is Housemaster's role in Halloween Quest 3. In this world, Housemaster, known here as Master H (paying respects to Vikings of Midgard), leads a rebel group to try and escape this world. Here, he joins the heroes in a battle against one of the world's invincible knights! Rumor is, these knights hold great items for dungeons ahead.

Words of inspiration right there.

Lemme try to redeem myself with some (hopefully) more appealing map shots.

It's too bad you can't actually see the flashing dials and lights that deck the walls.
