Heh, wasn't expecting to see Kim Jong Il in here... not sure how he'd fit in a game (boss, I'm guessing?), but the sprite's great. Looks just like the guy.
Here's some enemies from Okédoké! that weren't in the demo version--Deady Bear, Jack-O'-Lantern, Ghostie, Cuddly Spider, Lost Mummy, and Franky.
They're from the third chapter of the game, which takes place mostly in a haunted house (you might've been able to guess that from the almost-Castlevania-ish "random mix of horror movie monsters" theme.)

Meatballsub okayed the full 16 color palette for portrait sprites in a <a href="http://www.slimesalad.com/forum/viewtop ... rification of the rules</a>Mogri wrote:Regarding Okédoké: The portraits aren't NES-style. You're using at least one color too many in all of them.
I like your graphics style, though. The ghost in particular looks great.
Not very NESy, but oh well.
And I love the ghost too.

Though he would probably need to adjust the colors to get the darker shades to show up better on a black background.Mogri wrote:Yeah, I thought I remembered that. Most of them would be fine without looking any worse if the background were all black.
EDIT: Actually, never mind. Most of them will show up fine, except maybe that spider.

<TheGiz> oh hai doggy, oh no that's the straw that broke tjhe came baclsb
So I've got some issues here. This is s'posed to be a girl in a skirt, but it looks like a dude in MC Hammer pants. It's nice that I know how to sprite 5 O'clock shadow now (and MC Hammer pants), but it's not the effect I was going for.
I need some throwaway heroes, so I might keep this dude, but I'd rather make it look like what I meant it to, so I know how.

So, anyone care to take any guesses at the swords <s>GIRUGAMESH</s> this guy has managed to snag from his trips between dimensions?

Hmmm... is the one at the bottom left made of jade perhaps?
Blip.

Regarding turning MCHammer man into Skirt Girl, I've found that in order to make characters look like women, you gotta make curves. Women are all about curves, especially at the hips. Try giving her a thinner waste-line so the jacket doesn't look so straight. Hopefully that does the trick (and makes her happier too!)
Not sure what to do about the face.

Oh my goodness! I know who that guy is! How awesome!Fenrir-Lunaris wrote:So, anyone care to take any guesses at the swords <s>GIRUGAMESH</s> this guy has managed to snag from his trips between dimensions?
Top-right hand is wielding a Carrot Sword-- I don't think Bob has ever wielded a carrot sword, so he is very jealous.
Second-left hand is wielding the Pavender from Bobquest and Wandering Hamster
I agree that the bottom-right sword is the Sword of Jade.
I can't place the top-left or bottom-left swords.
The FAKE sword reminds me of Excalipoor, but I am guessing it is really a reference to a sword in an OHR Joke game.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, the Sword that the top-left-hand is holding has a big red triangle on it. Could it be the one that accompanies the Devil Armor given to Mr Triangle by the demon squirrel?
