Blasphemous Saga Fantasy

Post by Fortis »

I'm working on a game. I'm working on it very, very slowly, but I am working on it. It is called Blasphemous Saga Fantasy.

These screenshots are old, but they may be new to some of you!

<img src="http://www.zantetsuken.com/bsf-screenshots/bsf3.gif">

This is an example of the new battle graphics I'm slowly churning out.

The big problem I have is that I'm working on my game on a virtual Windows XP machine on an intel Mac. That in itself isn't the problem, really, it's mostly that Photoshop CS3 does not play nice with 16-color bitmaps. I'll be plugging away anyway. If there is any interest maybe I'll polish up the short demo I did for my final college project (it accompanied the comic) and put it on the gamelist.
Please read Blasphemous Saga Fantasy okay thanks

Is it a game version of the comic or does it have its own story?

The new Knight graphics are really good, but the 2nd and third are really similar. Maybe give #2 a silver sword/shield? Something to differentiate them besides their size. I assume these are equipment upgrades he gets or something.

I'd be interested to see it on the gamelist.

Wow.... That game looks amazing. Just don't make it like Time Files and never finish it. Heh.

That game looks really well defined.

My only complaint is that the Knight's mouth doesn't smile like he does in the comic. That really set the Squire/Knight's personality in stone for me.

It will be a unique story not shown in the comics.

Sure. I'll take some screenshots (NEW screenshots) and write some copy when I get home from work.

I was hoping you'd have put up the demo you made for senior project. I've been disappointed that we haven't seen it yet.
I'm definitely displaying interest here.

Wait, should we be displaying interest? If so, INTEREST, right here.

I also agree that Knight's smile was a defining feature, though I'm not sure there's a good way to show it at that resolution.

Looks great man, looking forward to the preview.

I still have yet to figure out how people draw tiles like that in battle backdrops. You know, the ones that gradually get smaller the further away you go.

Thanks. I did it in Photoshop with the 'distort' tool. Simply put, make a big tiled grid of the ground tile, distort it so the top is narrower than the bottom, and there you go.

Well guys I managed to slime the game up by editing some of the graphics in July. I will try to finish the ones I started so that it looks presentable in time to make a preview.

Holy crap. That was a ton of fun. For the brief amount of time the demo lasted, I was addicted. Really, amazing work. I look forward to playing more.

It took me a minute to figure out how to get past the title screen. Can you make CTRL and SPACE work to advance the screen?

Something seems to be wrong with this game. Everything moves on its own and I can't even control the cursor in battle (probably not your fault). Weird. If it was intentional, I'd love to know how you coded the battles to work his way.

Definitely not intentional. It sounds like you have a joystick issue or something.
