I remember you talking about your game on the podcast. Those are some good looking sprites!
Some walkabouts from my game: Lucian and some of his friends.
The two weasels are supposed to be twins with the only difference being the eye color, but that confuses the OHR when it comes to the palettes, apparently. Also the dog is getting a different outfit.
Battler (Lucian Katt!) for my battle system thing.
EDIT, a few minutes later: I was working on the first "attack" frame - I'm drawing these by hand and scanning, then squashing them to 120X80 - and I kind of like the grayscale look. Now I have a dilemma.
I really like the handdrawn look, but not because it's greyscale. In fact it's quite inspiring for the look I'm going for too. So my suggestion: go with handdrawn and coloured sprites.
The lines in that greyscale image are very clean. Did you trace over the originals in an image editor by hand, or is was a trick to it?

I just traced over it. You can actually see all the stray marks and smudges, it just looks clean because I went over it with the pencil tool in GIMP. In fact I’m gonna have to redo what I have since I can’t get the arrow to look right once it’s resized. I used a faber-castell graphite pencil and a ballpoint pen to ink it before scanning.
What are you planning on? If I can help, let me know.
