Klabautermann -- Dutch/German spirit or goblin that helps out with various things on ships, usually unseen unless the ship is doomed to sink soon.
Kanabo -- Japanese samurai spiked club/mace weapon that I've always thought looked kinda neat.
Khnum -- Egyptian god associated with the source of the Nile, said to create people's bodies from clay and place them in the mother's womb.
Kiribati -- Small island nation in the Pacific. Pronounced more like "keer-ih-bass," it's actually "Gilberts" transliterated into their language.
FYS:AHS -- Lower Yagziknia, Notebook entries for equipment

Kalimba - A musical instrument
Kenya - A country in Africa
Kali - Goddess of death and destruction in Hinduism
Kalki - The last Avatar, a.k.a. The magic boy who defeats Kali in Hinduism

Here is the official list of suggestions. I added descriptions for the ones that were lacking.

Code: Select all

krunkle - At least one indie band, a Boov from the cartoon "Home", and a commom misspelling of Crunkle, which might also be a made up word
kramer - A not even slightly obscure character from the hit show "Seinfeld". Possibly also 50% of a Dustin Hoffman film.
kaleidophone - a device for visualizing sound waves with light
katabothron - an underground channel of water
kenodoxy - the study of the vainglorious
keraunoscopia - divination by means of thunder
kilfud-yoking - a dispute around the fireside
kitthoge - awkwardly left handed
klabautermann -- Dutch/German spirit or goblin that helps out with various things on ships, usually unseen unless the ship is doomed to sink soon.
kanabo -- Japanese samurai spiked club/mace weapon that I've always thought looked kinda neat.
khnum -- Egyptian god associated with the source of the Nile, said to create people's bodies from clay and place them in the mother's womb.
kiribati -- Small island nation in the Pacific. Pronounced more like "keer-ih-bass," it's actually "Gilberts" transliterated into their language.
kalimba - A musical instrument
kenya - A country in Africa
kali - Goddess of death and destruction in Hinduism
kalki - The last Avatar, a.k.a. The magic boy who defeats Kali in Hinduism

⚀katabothron
kilfud-yoking keer-ih-bass
⚂keraunoscopia

Oh man, now I feel bad picking only my own-- I went through all the non-me suggestions carefully, and every single one failed the obscurity test. If if produces 10 or more pages of google results, it can't be obscure in my book :D

If somebody suggests something obscure that I like better before the first vote video gets posted, maybe I'll change one or two of them. :v:

EDIT: okay, actually, "keer-ih-bass", the phonetic approximation of kiribati is legit obscure and i like it. Switching ⚁ to that.

EDIT: I thought about this further and decided I was being an obscurity snob :o

I think I came up with a voting system that was fun for me, and un-fun for everyone else, so I am sorry.

Let's keep this one simple.

"K" nominations thus far can be voted upon here: https://star.vote/23yhza92/

(Yes its super easy to cheat with a private window or another browser. Please don't Let's just give it a try)

I kinda love this and I laughed pretty hard at my suggestion making it onto the list. Thanks for putting this together.

The winner is kaleidophone!

That was a close call :o

Jocoserious should release later this week. Kaleidophone should release in late May or early June.

Y'all can start nominating "L" words if you wish.

L'Ollonais - the infamous pirate
Locke - the philosopher
Lilliputian
L'Aquila - the Italian province
Loggerheads
Larus - part of the scientific name for gulls.
Les Paul - I like Les Pauls. Well, Les Paul knockoffs. Probably a trademark issue
Lusty - the archaic definition, "full of strength and vitality"
Lynchian - in honor of the late great David Lynch
Larsonian - in honor of the greatest artist of all time.
Lovecraftian
Lupine/Lupus(as in Canis Lupus)/Loup - Apparently people here like wolf girls, so why not?
Luna/Lunar/Lunacy/Lunatic
or, hear me out...
Lunaris - Hey, Fenrir made the official example game. Maybe he deserves to have a release named after him.
