Re: shhhhhhhhhh.......
I realize now that it's likely a beaver, and not a hamster. My 5 year old called it a chipmunk and ran off with it.
Re: shhhhhhhhhh.......
I got mine in the mail over the weekend but like James I'll open it maybe a couple days before Christmas. I'm planning on mailing mine out this week, it should arrive before Christmas I figure.

Re: shhhhhhhhhh.......
I have very little self control and only lasted a day without opening it.....
In my defense I did make the mistake of putting it right next to my desk during work so I was looking at it all day long.

Re: shhhhhhhhhh.......
I'm glad the beaver-hamster found it's way into your little one's hands quickly.
The index card was just to keep the packing tape off the beaver's fur.
The proper way to enjoy that can of maple syrup is to carry it around in your coat like a flask and add a little bit to each alcoholic beverage you drink this holiday season... You know, like Canadians do.

Mailed mine today. I severely underestimated shipping charges and the amount of time I'd spend at the post office.

Re: shhhhhhhhhh.......
My Secret Santa was PJ and he sent me a box intended for Bena. As per tradition I also did a reaction video, similar to Spoon's. It was definitely surprising. Thanks PJ! Merry Christmas and glad we did this this year.

Re: shhhhhhhhhh.......
I opted not to make a reaction video, I did a timelapse, but I got the settings wrong and it was way too fast. Telling youtube to play it back at 0.25x helps a little
I was not prepared for the sheer magnitude of weird amusing stuff in this box, I commend you on your superb Secret-Santa-ing!
I had fun and the kids did too.
Some favorites:
* A lightbox from Palma de Mallorca? Beanie-Baby trading cards? How old is some of this stuff? As old as the dude in the signed big-band trumpeteer picture?
* Arby's did a Shovel Knight promotion? My eldest was more excited by the Arby's logo than the stickers. Arbys exists in Canada but is pretty rare, so she seemed to think it was just a legend from meme vidoes making fun of Arbys
* Creepy-cute librarian figurine-- What is his story?
* My youngest loved the Hello Kitty card. The message inside was heartwarming
* She was also traumatized by the Beanie Baby cards. They did not contain any beanie-boos. I tried to explain to her that Beanie-boos did not exist in 1999, Ty wasn't making them yet. That further traumatized her. Lucky you sent me a nice book explaining why traumatizing your children is a good thing
* Loved the pinecones. Top quality decoration-grade pinecones. They are in my Christmas tree right now!
* I now have several gigs of spare ram that does not fit any computer I own. Was tempted to hang them in the tree too!
* Kings of Leon? With Anime Eyeballs? Who drew that? Who signed that? What language did they sign it in? What alien alphabet?
* My wife shook her head with dismay at the "Merry & Pippin" Lord of the Rings pin. She has no room in her heart for any Hobbit other than Sean Astin
* When we found the rusty Tim-Tim pins, my oldest was quite excited. I stopped to explain to her that this package was sent by the author of her favorite Ouya game. Also how did those pins get so rusty? How? How! Please tell me it is rust, and not accumulated dried blood from previous victims.
I don't think that was even a quarter of the weird stuff in that box. I applaud you.
