I'm very very close to having things ready for release, so in light of that I am putting out a call for playtesters in the very near future.
I'll be looking for people who are willing to play through all the content at least once, providing feedback on areas such as combat, writing, pacing, fun, and of course any nefarious bugs that may crop up.

If you're interested, reply here or PM me, or add me to steam (VVight). About 2 weeks from now is the approximate date that I'd be sending out playtest copies.

I'll try and incentivize some way, whether a cameo in game or reciprocal playtesting and feedback.

Bug? Renaming character via Stat menu

I'm not sure if its intentional but I can rename the character via the Stat menu by pressing enter repeatable.
I tested bale012a_796.zip on Ubuntu, etheldreme version.

Yes, that is intentional-- but if you don't want it, there is a bitset that disables that feature :)

Ah , totally intentional. Version .12 is very out of date. The playtest version will be emailed to those interested.

Hey thanks! I've played persona 1 & 3, lucifer's call and SMT4, as well as MegaTen online (when it existed), but not the SNES games. I probably owe it to myself sometime.

Wait, what was that about an advice hotline? Is that the Speak command? How does that work; you're reminded about what you need to do next and so forth?

Have you done any more streaming of the game on Twitch?

"Speak" will randomly pick from a pool of subjects, based on what you've done and where you are in the world. You'll mainly get advice about what to do next, but not always.

I haven't done any more streaming recently, perhaps sunday evening NZ time. Plenty more to show off this week.

Ah, so Speak and Scry are separate, and both give you advice?

A hundred sound effects? Wow, I don't know how you can use that many; nearly every attack has a unique one?

I won't actually have time to watch the livestream, unfortunately.

Oh, nope, Scry is a menu that contains speak and bestiary.

Sound effects are also used in the environment and cutscenes, as well as menus etc. Each enemy has a unique cry, as does most of the passive wildlife.
