Palette mixed up when I import/How to maintain color ramps?

I don't know if this is due to an update but I noticed when importing a custom palette the color ramps were not maintained in the order they appear in the original BMP image. I used PalEdit to make my palette as I normally do.

I've attached pictures showing the palette before and after import. It seems like CUSTOM rearranged the colors maybe based on their hue since there seems to be a distinct pattern. This is undesirable since I work fastest with ramps. Also the top left color has became red so now my transparency color is red.

Maybe theres a new setting I'm missing or something... I haven't imported a custom palette in a long time.

Make sure you save the palette as a 24 bit bmp.

When you import an 8-bit bmp as a palette, you are getting a copy of its palette, which is usually rearranged in strange ways.

When you import a 16x16 pixel 24-bit bmp file, then custom takes the color from each pixel in-order and uses that as the palette, preserving your intended ramp organization.

In fact, in nightly builds newer than March 3rd, it always uses the pixels, no matter what the bit depth of the imported file is, so this should not be a problem in the future.

Okay thanks, I just missed that nightly update. I think I downloaded a few days prior.
